Which to take? I usually take the extended duration, but I'm curious about other's thoughts.

take both and then you can switch between em mid mission to whatever you need?

I always go with the one that lets you instantly use your magic. I find that to be incredibly useful. Extended duration sounds useful but try to use it in the middle of a boss fight or when you have 5 enemies attacking you. Or do like Montengo said, just get both and see which one you like more. If you decide you don`t need both just use a book of reincarnation and you can spend those points on something else.

I took duration because I don't have that much magic anyway and I typically buff before a boss. Something to consider though is that the duration mystic art increases the duration of ALL buffs such as Ninjutsu and items, not just Onmyo buffs. However, it does not increase the duration of debuffs, Sloth talisman for instance.

If you're constantly using magic on bosses it's better to use the instant cast one, extended duration is nice if you have things like luck talisman because they don't last very long. I think that instant cast is the best out of the two though.
