Good Onmyo skills for Dual Swords?
I have extra Onmyo skills but don't wanna waste it b/c have used the Book of Reincarnation at least 4 times if not more.

So, per the subject what do you recommend?

I'm thinking about Evil Ward II ... worth it?

Lifesteal is a good choice. Hamper their Ki regen because dual swords seem to suck at breaking it down. Combine with Kessai for the buff towards your own Ki regen and you can whale away on an enemy for ages, keeping the pressure up and their Ki low, ready for grapples/final blows. I guess.

I usually run Carnage, Life Drain, Kessai and Sloth. Sometimes I switch up Kessai for Weakness though. Sloth makes every fight a joke, especially at 25+ Magic. Kessai deserves a special mention for instantly deleting Yokai corruption upon moving in range of it (which can be buffed via an Onmyo skill as well) and thus makes certain bosses, like the Ogress, a cakewalk.

And of course, Oasis/Rejuvenate is always handy to have (and makes people fighting your Revenant have a hard time too)

A lot of Onmyo magic can be replicated in the form of single use items anyway that are never usually in short supply I.E travel talismans though.

I also buff bosses with Weakness, Lifeseal and Power pill before attacking. I use Sloth only when about to die or struggling.

Actually, I think Dual Swords apply status effects quite fast. So if you have Earth element on the swords, you can drain enemies' Ki fast.

For those who have used Carnage and Leeching, which do you prefer and why?

Cheers.

Cheers. Which is the safer option in your opinion?

Yesterday, I managed to paralyse Onryoki and Hanzo's dad with paralysis on my new swords - surprised me and the summoners ... hope I didn't spoil them ;p

I think I may have paralysed Otani as well except not as long ...

What is the best Dual Swords attack skill that's non-Mid stance?
Witcher 4 FEB 2018 a las 21:03
Or is it better to dump more Samurai skills to Melee Mastery if I stay mainly in Mid-stance?

The answers to your question kind of differs based on the difficulty you are on.

If you are on Way of the Samurai / Strong, I don't think it really matters what you do because even without a build or clear focus, everything is perfectly doable even up to WotD.

I will add that you don't want Paralysis on your weapon. It's better to apply Hemlock, raise Ninjutsu and Paralysis augmentation for optimal results.

Well, I'm 75-80% thru NG+ and may go into NG++.

I like to use some Ninja and Onmyo skills but find I need to focus on one first ... else, I shall forfeit Stat points on my melee weapon's skills. I will invest more points into Onmyo b/c Skills complements Dual Swords and Ninja, but currently have 8 Onmyo points which I can't decide where to put.

I'm thinking bet doubling Steel and Carnage OR Wind Shot ... comments?

carnage + steel always good tho, gets +attack and overwrites the -def debuff.

Since you haven't listed it, "Devigorate" is very useful to have. Basically cutting enemy damage down to roughly half is a life saver in higher difficulties. Because all the healing in the world counts for very little when you die in one hit.

"Extraction Talisman" is very useful as well. It helps to have your living weapon ready a lot more often and for way longer. There are also certain set bonuses and abilities that get triggered by absorbing "Amrita" and for those it's basically a must have.

Guardian Spirit Talisman can be very useful depending on what guardian you are using.

And last but not least the "Luckbringer Talisman" can help a lot when trying to get rare drops like smithing texts and it never hurts to use one just before you finish off a boss.

I have Devigorate 1. Does it work like Wind element - which is better?

I have enhanced Kara-jishi and he charges up quick fast but is useless for Guardian Spirit or Moment ;)

I prefer to use other things for Luck rather than use up a quick slot.

Now I'm undecided where to invest my next stat point. My current stats from top to bottom are 14, 34, 22, 22, 70, 21, 29 & 28 - comments?

Devigorate is clearly better. Not just is the effect stronger, but you do not have to first build up the bar on the enemy before the effect becomes active. Which against enemies more resistent against wind can take a long time or even not work at all. Mechanically "Devigrate" works like the "Weakness Talisman". Hit the enemy with it and the effect is active. Duration is also the same so I have them on shortcuts right next to each other and usually cast both at the beginning of a fight against harder enemies.

Ok thanks. Will give Devigorate a try.
