Any fix for a curropted save?
Recently had a hardcrash (in the abyss) that resulted in a possible curropted save file :/

When loading my old save from the main menu, the thumbnail which is ussually reserved for your mission icon, is now black and when trying to load the game, it simply says "No"

Steam Verifying the files hasn't worked. Am I going to have to result to a cheat engine for a new character?

You don't even have the game on steam or any indication that you played it in your profile.

Although there's save files in "My Documents" directory, saves themselves still comes from Steam servers, i tested it by deleting profile directory along with the game and later reinstalled game.

You can try:
1) Check game files integrity through Steam
2) Manually remove(not delete, but move somewhere another directory) your profile from "My Documents"
3) Optionally you can try to delete/reinstall whole game

Currently reinstalling the game (with my save file seperate). So i've done #1 and hoping #3 works.

Though for #2, Do you mean to run the game without any saves, and return the saves afterwards? never did that before my uninstall, though if it works. i'm kicking myself, because i'm on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 156kb/s after a move :/

Wonderful help.

That usually mean you are either pirating the game or using a dummy private account that you can cheat on thus the corrupted save...

Just looked into it myself, Nioh is on family share, same with Fallout 4 and many other games, none of them appear on my played games. Steam is *Far* from being realiable of it's own service these days.

Either way, if you want to hound someone for anything, you'll find a reason. I'm here to argue about the save file, not to prove innocence.

Kinda, I believe steam might spot absence of your save files and re-download them.
But i might be wrong...

That might rely on Cloud saves, which i luckily didn't turn off, But I still have the SavaData folder in documents with two saves sooo i'll hope.

New save file, 24 hours into a new playthough and same issue.

I've no clue what's causing it, Wasn't a crash during a save and i've zero clue what else could cause it. Doesn't help that the error message is nonexistant.

Edit: Verified files on steam, and now downloading *18.6 GB* all over again. had this issue when I purchased my own copy..

pretty sure this is a conflict between windows 10 and Nioh.. Hopefully it's fixed. but the size will take me a few days to download.

Go to your Documents folder, then into Koei Tecmo, reach the “Nioh” folder. Inside, you’ll see a folder with a long number as its name. Open it and look for a folder called SaveData00.

Now, take the SaveData.bin from that folder and move it somewhere else (to back it up if needed).
Now copy the file called Backup.bin into that same folder, and rename it SaveData.bin (the name of the file you've moved).

Doing this might cause you to lose a bit of recent progress, but your save data will be safe.

Important: When you launch the game again, Steam might detect a mismatch between your local save and the cloud save.
Make sure to choose the local save to avoid overwriting your restored data.

One common cause of this issue is running low on disk space. When that happens, the game might fail to save properly.

Do you take some sick pride in resurrecting a 7 year old thread?
