This laptop tweak might also work for desktop to manually create a profile for nioh. The concept is kinda the same where you create a specific game profile...

With regards to the link you provided(thanks kindly by the way) I actually do that with all games I have less than stellar preformance with, so I had already tried that with no success.
I do think you're right tho about it being a setting...I did the nvidia update a few days ago and things were fine HOWEVER I've had my PC on for the past few days too, and the problem actuall started when I had reset my PC hoping to auto D/L something via usb. So I'm thinking that an update screwed me up, but what I can't figure is why?
Things like this do happen in PC gaming as I'm sure you know, more often than not the problem fixes itself in a few days, I was just hoping that this was a known issue with a quick fix...oh well!

Note: I did turn off the 3 checkmarked boxes at the bottom of settings...dynamic shadows, motion blur and whatever the other one was.
