Good Dual Swords Build Stats
I have come to a crossroad where I don't know which Stat to allocate next level points for a Dual Swords build b/c I have already used the Book of R 3 times and the 4th is getting expensive.

Currently I have 10 allocated to Body, Heart, Stamina & Strength. The others are:

- 25 Skill;
- 20 Dexterity;
- 12 Magic;
- 15 Spirit.

I know the relevant Stat points for a DS build are Skill, Heart & Strength but am also aware Body is required to unlock Medium armor and some Guardian spirits require more Spirit points to unlock their full potential. I'm interested in getting Kara-jishi and then Tengen Kujaku.

I'm also using Ninja and Onmyo skills and my secondary weapon is Kusarigama.

Cheers.

Dual swords scale mostly from skill and heart. But you should also be dropping points in magic/ninjutsu/spirit for their bonuses. If you can't decide then drop a load of points into spirit.

GOOD ADVICE

Honestly, i love Kogarasu-maru and Nuke-maru swords exactly because they always get extra scaling from Spirit. Meaning that i can have both powerfull guardian spirit and damage from dual swords.
So yeah, given that example exact stats are not all that relevant for enjoyment. However you need to take into account set bonuses, weapons and certain afixes on items if you realy want to make some precise builds. And those builds are not limited to basic things.

Thanks. Would you use more points on Heart than Ninja, Spirit and/or Onmyo? I read less points ought to be allocated to Onmyo than Spirit for a DS build.

Where/when do you get the 2 DS you love? I tried forging a pair of DS with 33% (highest) chance of being Exotic but it turned out to be rare :/

Btw, what are good armor sets for DS build up to the 4th region? I've got 5 pieces of Warrior of the West but am now interested in Genius Strategist except they are rare drops compared to WotW ...

You are too low level to be using the book so many times. The game gives you 750 levels so your stats don't really matter too much at such a low level.

For DS end game you'll need:
200 Skill
200 Heart
200 Strength

the Body/Stam should just be what you need to wear the armor piece you want (if you are not sure just stick to 15 each until you find an armor that needs more). Also at try to keep your weight at 70% or below to keep Agility Rating of B or less, the closer to 70% usually means the less points you wasted on Stamina.

Magic just up it until it no longer increase you Onmyo slots (30 Onymo capacity or something can't remember).

Dex for me I usually just +8 from the starting amount so I can equip 3 Quick change scroll and 3 tiger sprint.

Spirit just depends on what guardian you wish to use, I go for 15 because I use Kato+Ayamori.

Your stat will cap at 99 until you NG++(+? can't remember how many +)

Thanks Sleepy Neko for your tips. Yeah, I have spent too much on the books so early in the game b/c I didn't know some of the samurai skills previously spent were useless and found out the points required to unlock Warrior of the West armor late :/

Speaking of which, why do you need higher Body & Dexterity skills to wear light than medium armor Body & Strength requirements?? Last night, I managed to farm half of the Red Demon and Kingo armor from 2 revenents (both exotic), except I can't unlock their passives. Anyhow, my WotW armor set is better but I have kept them for the moment.

Does buying the book at the Hidden TeaHouse increase in Glory points after each purchase too?

My Agility is B with weight below 55 or 60% ... latter is max I think.

I have now found Heart increases damage against enemies except it doesn't increment the other stats much (same with Strength) hence why I didn't invest in them earlier ...

Your stats affect your weapons damage, if you read the passive properties of each weapon at the bottom of the screen you will be able to see which stat the weapon goes best with. Dual swords scales off Skill the most at B+, and it will scale off Str and heart at C+ or D+ depending on the weapon.

Different armor class light/medium/heavy will need different stats to wear, so just make sure u have enough to wear whatever you need.

I have been looking for a good armor set to complement my Dual Swords build, and found a video blogger recommending Tatenashi and Righteous Strategist.

What do you think - which one is better for a balance play?
Sleepy Neko 21 DIC 2017 a las 10:16
I wouldn't recommend Righteous Strategist. This game is best to mix sets due to the bonus you get with Yasakini Magatama (All set bonus requirements are reduced by 1). I personally run 3 sets and one of them is the Master swordsman for the skill damage on SotC.
Witcher 21 DIC 2017 a las 13:23
Yasakini Magatama is an ethereal item available in NG+ only, right?

So, what are good armor pieces for the first play thru?
Sleepy Neko 21 DIC 2017 a las 13:45
Nah you can get Yasakani non-ethereal. If you want to get a set earlier you just do the same thing but go for 2 sets instead. I went with Master swordsman and Warrior of the west on my first playthrough and used Lightning talisman and +lightning damage on weapon (not +lightning, increase lightning damage instead). The Warrior of the west will give you more damage when the enemy is electrified and its easy to apply status effect with low stance dual sword.

Otherwise if you really just want one set and for some reason don't want to use SotC then you can go with Kingo set.

Oh, good and thanks. Can I farm non-ethereal Yasakini in the Trial of the Master sub mission too?

Aight, I picked up your fav pair of swords from Otani but is it still good if not using Yatagarasu guardian spirit?
Harukage 28 DIC 2017 a las 22:09
Nah, it is just a small protection bonus for Yatagarasu. You do not realy need that.
Witcher 28 DIC 2017 a las 22:12
So, it's still better than another with +12 Wind damage (plus 4 other special effects) minus the spirit protection?

Edit: Aight, the maru pair are indeed better I think b/c of the Familiarity Attack Bonus.
