I agree for point 2 which is my main concern right now with kb+m (well that and the fact I lost my muscle memory by switching from gamepad to kb+m). I' m "glad" I' m not the only one to have this problem. Sorry for you :>
How's that different from just pressing circle?
All about muscle memory. Whatever you're used to will work better, of course.
Been gaming since the mid 80s, controllers are ingrained into my DNA, specifically the PS controller as I've been using it since what, '95? The design hasn't really changed, I know it like the back of my hand.
I used to to this on Nioh with the mouse and keyboard workaround. With joystick is definitely possible, why it's not with Official Keyboard and Mouse? This is the most gamebreaking issue i'm facing right now. Did i miss any option that lets me keep moving while on the menus?
That sounds like a pain early on considering how she starts that fight every single time...
That's fair. With action games, I much prefer keyboard and mouse if they're available since it feels easier to hit the correct keys after I'm used to it. Without trying to turn this into a debate, games with action components feel more fluid (to me) with well designed KBM controls. Dragon's Dogma comes to mind as an example with extremely competent KBM support - where the pace of action can just about match the pace of input, albeit sporadically owing largely to a single specific skill.
Apologies, I did notice this but I overlooked it and forgot to include it. It appears that the "Actions" bindings are completely disabled when the menu is open, so even rebinding won't solve this. As far as I can tell, the only way to work around it for now is to emulate analogue inputs with WASD and use different keys to navigate the menu.
About point 1,I only use lock-on when fighitng 1 enemy at a time, so I haven't really noticed the lock-on thing
Point 3: Odd, I have no controller, and i've yet to notice any stutter.
Point 4: I think this one is intentional. So you have to press 2 buttons to do a ki pulse-flush.
You mean using the workaround that we got with GPDSCK?
Uff, if that is the case i can try it. Still i was hoping i could uninstall the thing after this patch... :/
(It's causing some conflicts with Dark souls 1 DSMfix. Everytime i need to play it i've to disable vjoy, and restart the PC...
Still, thanks for the tip.
Can you clarify this a bit? I'm not sure which bindings you're referring to. Presumably, it's something under "Menus" that's tied to the left analogue stick. The only thing I can see there is the regional map cursor which seems to be altogether separate.
Unfortunately I don't know of another solution right now. Someone else might though. This might also be unwarranted advice but even if this issue gets resolved, I'd recommend avoiding trying to use items from the menu during combat. It's safer and easier to bind anything you might need to the item shortcuts beforehand. The two extra shortcut sets you can get at the blacksmith are probably the most valuable thing you can spend patronage levels on if you haven't already.
Avoiding lock-on when multiple targets are around is reasonable but a bit less so for heavy item users. That's interesting about the stutter though, I suppose it doesn't affect everybody. And while penalizing the use of the stance switch shortcut sounds logical, it seems to negate any improvement it would otherwise grant, considering that it takes up the space of an extra button regardless. Personally, I already avoid it for that reason.
