The guy is based on the William Adams character and the story seems to have taken element from a unused script by Akira Kurosawa.

Sasaki kojiro is not based on a manga, the manga character was based on the real person (or at least the legend). Sasaki kojiro was a famous swordsman around the time of musashi famed for using a long sword called the drying pole (monohoshizao, available in game as a drop from him). He famously dueled musashi and lost, although some claims are that musashi fought with the sun at his back blinding sasaki making the fight unfair.

Sasaski has a famous technique called swallow... cut? I can't remember the second part. Anyway he does a vertical slash followed instantly by an upward slash all in one motion to get under the guard of the opponent. As far as I'm aware there is no reference to that move in this game. All the legends surrounding musashi are of questionable veracity so theres a good chance it's all made up but it's certainly a much much older story than any manga.

All of this is also from memory so a few things may be minorly wrong here or there.

Tsubame gaeshi? Swallow return?
awanderingswordsman 29 NOV 2017 a las 13:14
Yeah, I looked it up and apparently it is often translated as swallow cut even though swallow return/reversal is more acurate, but yeah, that's the move.

Actually most of the characters are based on history of samurai age of japan. I was shocked when i realised that there actually was an afro samurai. Sasaki Kojiro and Miyamoto Musashi both are present in this game. Vagabond is the manga adaptation of Miyamoto Musashi's life.

If you are talking about sasaki's 燕返しit is in the game at about 0:23, and you actually have a skill under katana has the same name(in Japanese language) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L07NLo5W6Tw&feature=youtu.be

If you want story better stick to traditional rpg. Arpg games are not known for stories anyways. Sasaki Kojiro and Miyamoto Musashi are single sub missions. Thats about it for them.
rakruta 30 NOV 2017 a las 3:43
yeah i know , but i couldn't find any game that relates vagabond , that fight which he kills 70 men under a tree and the manga which ended without descripting the fight b/w sasaki and musashi ,i was desperate dats all
