No, not really. It mixes elements from different games.
you mean RPG games? Maybe you should try the dark souls.

Agree. OP, what did you enjoy the most in Nioh?

I enjoy the combat and the RPG aspect. (Leveling up and getting better gear.) Nioh is first RPG I ever played. I looked into the dark souls series and it looks slow compared to Nioh. Maybe I’m wrong?

You are right
Nioh is much faster

Dark Souls is slow in comparison and doesn't have as big a focus on gear. Unfortunately, there is no other game which has this much gear while retaining similar combat. If you want the kind of loot/gear you find here, have a look at hack n' slash RPGs like Diablo, Grim Dawn and Torchlight 2. If you want the combat style on display, Souls games are similar (but not the same). They are slower and don't have stances/combos, but they retain the same core concepts.

Demon's Souls (PS3), Dark Souls 1,2&3, Bloodborne (PS4), Lords of the Fallen, and The Surge.
They all share the same basic gameplay, the latter 2 aren't exactly great but playable I guess.
Theres nothing else like this. I vaguely recall some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ps2 game that had a similar blend of randomized rpg loot and action combat but the action combat wasn't very good. Theres very few games up to par with nioh just as an action game and nothing that also blends in loot.

Bloodborne is pretty fast and IMHO better than dark souls 3 for those who look for a fast paced game

Try Dragon's Dogma

OP, you had only spent 40+ hours in Nioh, there are more things to be enjoy as you progress further. Unless you own the PS4 version, and play thru it thoroughly.

You want Nioh-like fast paced hack and slash action RPG's?

Try Darksiders, specially 2. The first game is heavier due to the nature of the character (muscular and brute) and the second is lighter and faster. Both are still fast paced.

The second has more RPG and character building elements and has looting system (not complicated tho). I suggest you have a look at it first if you want character building. You cannot block like in the first game tho.

There was a similar game called Onimusha (1 to 3 are worth it) but it's old already and camera view style is outdated.

If you want online multi-play, try Dark Souls 3 in which it is way much better than Nioh (online multi-play, I mean). But it is lazy and much slower than Nioh but it has much better environment variaty. Heaviest weapon in Nioh almost swings as fast as lightest weapon in DS3 in some cases.

Try Valdis Story: Abyssal City if you want similar 2D games. Beautifully drawn and the atmosphere draws you in. If you like 2D Castlevania, you'll like it.
