level cap

I saw someone say that the level cap is 750, others that is 400, others that said that it raise to 550 after beating the game,ecc... so, what is the truth ? Can it go over 400 ?

Unlock the cap the same way you unlock the difficulties.

It depends on the highest NG cycle you unlock.
The cycles are: Way of the Samurai (first) - Way of the Strong - Way of the Demon - Way of the Wise - Way of the Nioh, if I'm not missing anything.

Even more additionally once you reach level 750 you can then get up to 1000 focus levels with amrita which cost 3 bil a piece (about the same as a level up in the mid 550s) and these things are super weak and just exist as an amrita sync. You can get focus levels in either life, attack, defense, or luck. Every 2 focus levels in life gets you 1 life, every 5 in attack or defense gives 1 of those, every 10 in luck gives you 1 luck. If you were to put all your levels into one stat you would end up with either 500 life, 200 attack, 200 defense, or 100 luck. These are pitiful numbers at this point in the game and it would cost 3 trillion amrita to get all 1000 focus levels.

Additionally to that, level cap for Way of the Strong might be 230, but that I was not able to confirm. I saw a lot of lvl 230 Revenants on Way of the Strong and not a single one above that.

Yeah, just rush through the quest queens eyes again and again, you don't need to go through the whole game again and again(you could if you like), you only need to finish easiest side quests to unlock chapter maps until you see the chapter map with queens eyes quest and you need do few more quests to make the queens eyes quest showed up then rush through it.

I am not sure about the actual level caps, since I stayed below those. But stats are capped at 99 until you unlock Way of the Nioh, which raises that limit to 200 each and 750 levels total.

I'm preaty sure that level cap on WotW is 500 - I have 487lv now and I don't finish The Queen's Eye's on WotW - just sitting on doing Marobashi quest. :D

Not really if you upgrade your gear and get some damage reduction bonuses from sets.

ive been grinding for armor upgrades i got the trongest heavy armor set and still i get invoked a yokai jumps out of nowhere and before i can even react i instantly get killed like nice all my upgrades where worthless :/

Get additional grace sets to get extra dr, i have buttload of dr from kigetsu+susano+tatenashi. Bosses have a hard time killing me when it's set up properly. Then again, they don't live longer than a single LW hit, so... eh.
