Why only few people are playing this game?
I mean, i am a big fan of Dark Souls style and i am having a blast with Nioh, and i know, it is not a copy of Souls, but it got part of its essency.
I was thinking that Nioh would have lots of people from Souls community, but i was wrong. Why? I really don't know. The game have co op and PvP, and it is what i was looking for.

I think that only 8 thousand people playing Nioh is not the number that the game deserves, and even with those numbers, i am still having difficulty to join in other game sessions. It seems like nobody summons for co op =(

One big reason why a lot didn't bother to get it, is that there is already a PS4 version that runs at 60fps. Sure the PC version can go higher, but most Souls games are 30fps on console and 60fps on PC, which is why they make the jump. A lot of the PC souls players are also console players most of the time.

Another reason is that, to get to the end-game, requires a lot of grinding and repeating the same stages (like beating the game 5 times). I love Nioh, I did a few challenge runs on it and got pretty far in the Abyss and beat all settings, but I'm NOT doing all that again just on the PC.

Would be playing if they fixed the random crashes. Promising game otherwise.

Lack of proper support for a basic device on the PC platform is a big killer.

The reason there's not many people playing is that pc users are babies, and often I feel like getting away from "PCMR" because of how childish pc players tend to be.

They whine more than they play video games. The game is great, it just needs to have it's region issue fixed, it's a problem in every koei game because of how steam wants to operate.

And tbh for monster hunter world I may just go console, for the people who are in region most are scrubs any way, and most likely the same people complaining that this isnt the same game as dark souls.

Im really tired of the PC community, for shooters they're top percent for skill/community, but for everything non shooter to the exclusion of indy games the pc community falls flat. Alot of speed runners tend to be console and not pc.

I think this kind of proves with nioh and also toukiden. Both have/had thriving and skillful console communities.

I had no idea this game was released on PC until I saw a friend playing it. The PC release had practically no advertisement.

For me the only thing holding me up of buying is MK aka not proper PC port. If it would be a quality of PC port like dark souls 3 it would be in my list right now.

The only thing "bad" about this port is no KB&M support. Other than that, the game works perfectly fine for me.

Imagine if some game was ported to a console and how popular it would be if it had only KB/M support (then you were told by blindfolded fanbois to buy a keyboard and a mouse) and aside that it had only (stupidly) hardcoded few buttons (and tons of crude combinations to workaround controllers' lack of keys) on your controller with analog sticks/pad left unused (and unusable).

Personally, if I wanted to play the game bad enough I would just get used to KB/M controls. There are some games on steam that I would prefer to have played on a controller, but didn't have controller support that I simply made do with KB/M. :conwayshrug:

Hypothetically, you would have to buy those first as well =)

No problem :special: I've bought more than a couple xbox controllers just for my Dark Souls games I play on PC. (despite having a PS4, and two perfectly good controllers for it. I just like the xbox controllers more) I also own a razor orbweaver chroma stealth, so I don't think I would mind.

ps: For the record, not due to breaking them in hissyfits. The $12 clear plastic LED xbox controllers are trash and don't last long. I can just never bring myself to pay $40 for one of the good ones.

You're wrong. I've completed DS3 at SL1 with keyboard and mouse, and the lack of support is precisely why i won't buy Nioh, despite the fact that it looks like a good game of the genre.

Late and not too good port coupled with lack of advertising. This game could have been much bigger on pc than it's going to be, but Koei didn't give a ♥♥♥♥.

So analogous to Guitar Hero where you needed to buy a different controller type?

At this point, I too really wish Nioh PC did have K/M support so we would stop seeing all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and whining posts.
