Is this game based on James Clavell's Shogun

I think it's pretty cool how so far in the story the game seems to be kinda like James Clavell Shogun(a pretty awesome novel and tv miniseries) anyone else make this connection and think its pretty cool.

William adams character is the inspiration for the game.

This wasn't based on Shogun. Rather, they are both based after the same real person (William Adams/Miura Anjin). He's a pretty big historical figure in japan. Look him up, it's pretty interesting.

A simple google would answer it (sorry), but it is based on an unfinished script of famed Japanese writer Akira Kurosawa which was based on real life events but with a twist.

William Adams was a hostage. He was never given leave to see his wife and children in England and indeed never left Japan for as long as he lived.

ahh thanks guys well I will look into William Adams I am pretty bug into history, but I havnt really studied Japan's History that deeply know only the most major stuff about the sengoku jiddai but it is cool thta i seems some of you have also read the book.
