Looks like it only works on Windows 10 though?

Well its says that i save 50gb of space, but in reality its only ~20-25gb (which is also not too shabby)

Game was 73.4gb it's now 22gb using XPRESS8K algorithm, make sure you use at least 8K or 16k and are on win10 it won't work on any other windows version.

I used 16k and yes - folder properties says that game was 73.4gb it's now 22gb, but i freed only about 20-25gb on whole HDD (not 50)

This tool is amazing it has saved my hdd. i was getting so frustrated with games getting up to absurd levels of memory, and i hate when developers use FMV only for their cutscenes, it takes up so much memory, are often compressed and you cannot enjoy watching them at higher resolutions compare to real time ones.

I understand when it comes to games like the Witcher 3 or other open world games, but then there are games like Deus Ex mankind devided which features only 2 different cities and basically blows away all memory on FMV.

So this tool has been simply amazing,
Glad it helped you out

Windows has always had a file compressor but you wont be able to manually do it or using this program unless its on Windows 10. Sorry mate. I am sure there is some alternative though out there. (Compact GUI is just a GUI version of windows program that is already on your pc. Normally you would have to use command prompt to do this)

Is compressing not the same thing? As in Right-click folder>Properties>Advanced>Compress?
the default compress is not the same thing no. It will compress files but not at the same rates or format.

Similar issue as Kain, compressed folder indeed went from 73.9GB to 20.7GB(size on disk) but those 50GBs didn't get added to my HD's free space(only 10GB or so did). https://github.com/ImminentFate/CompactGUI/issues/111
