You don't have to claw unless you don't believe in locking on. You can sprint while locked on. Also the camera follows behind you pretty well while turning. Though you can always change your attack buttons to R1/R2. Idk how the PC version will work, chances are I will use kb/m because button combinations can be kind of annoying in Nioh.
If that stuff doesn't work very well for you then yeah you'll be doing the claw alot. However the camera usually does a great job of already turning to where your going.
Well from quite a few sources there is no KB/M support so you might have no choice but to use a controller. I personally enjoy using a controller more in general, but especially for games like this. The lock on works really well, and honestly never had trouble slicing down multiple enemies, even with switching between stances mid battle. I'm not into using a KB/M like lots of people are, so I can't really speak for them, but I find it hard to believe people will struggle using a controller that normally use KB/M just because the game works so well with the controller layout.
But again. I'm not a heavy KB/M user, so I could just be talking out my ass haha
I wouldn't say it's more cinematic. However on the base difficulty it is certianly way less of a challenge than Bloodborne. I think the term will better be Nioh can be less aggressive than Bloodborne. Bloodborne is a severely aggressive game afterall.
If you haven't played recently and only around launch, then yes, Bloodborne is the more difficult game. However, they have sinced made a lot of balance changes (mostly since certain weapons/skills/armor sets etc could be easily exploited) along with adding more versions of NG+.
The newest version of NG+ doesn't just make everything a higher level, certain enemies can have different buffs plus a few other things to add an extra challenge. In those difficulties Nioh is more difficult in my opinion. In all honesty, aside from the Spider boss in Bloodborne, I didn't find it much more challenging than the Souls series.
It's actually one of the only 3 games I've ever cared enough to take the time to Platinum. I wish the PS4 kept track of hours played, I'd love to know how many hours I poured into it. I'm guessing close to 250 or more.
Yeah playing with randoms kinda sucked, but it's also the PS4 community, so I wasn't expecting much. What I did like is the DLC didn't require you to beat the level before playing it through front to back with a friend. I'm curious if the PC version will have that change for the entire game or if it will be the same. Unless they patched it and I missed it.
