Light Switch Issues

I am just starting the game, but before I really get into it, I was hoping to find a better way to turn the light switch on and off. Whenever I need to turn it on OR off, I have to click the area several times over and over again before it apparently finds the hit box for the action and I walk over to turn the lights.
Thing is, it's only with the light switch. I can zoom in on the computer and do the hacking exercises just fine, so I don't think it's my mouse.
Is there an easier way to do this? Is there a button I can push instead or something, or am I just constantly missing the hit box?

hey, kinda late but oh well
i had this same problem some time ago, so i gave up trying and did some other stuff and i got a new mouse. then i tried again just to see if i was doing something wrong and it worked
so the problem could be your mouse (yes my old mouse also worked at the computer and exiting it)

actually forget this. its just a game problem with loading hitboxes, this can happen in the pc or outside. really weird

basically try playing in windowed or reset your pc until it corrects itself
