Can't get past the early planet puzzle.

OK, OK I feel daft but I've tried and tried and can't get past that very early planet alignment puzzle. The planets won't align, they just won't move, and it just doesn't matter where I stand on the correct light up areas. I've even - not wanted to, but had to - watch walk throughs and copied exactly but still no progress.
Maybe it's a re-install but thought I'd ask in case you guys can end this misery.

It has to be a bug because it has no mistery at all. You have to step on the first floor-button to see how planets should be aligned and then move to the next one so you can use the triggers to adjust longitude and latitude. I had no problems at all and no bugs either on my 2 walkthroughs.

Use the Keys i and O while standing on the 2nd and 3rd from the left platform.

The alignment for me was slightly off, instead of small blue sphere centered in front of the orange sphere the blue sphere was up and to the right just a little bit, before the puzzled locked and the next event started.

The keyboard keys '[ i ] and [ o ] ' usually pop-up at the bottom, but don't - that's the bug, but the puzzle still works.
