Direct Draw Init Failed (80004001) when starting the game
I get the error Direct Draw Init Failed (80004001) when starting the game

http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=downloads&ss=299&s=patch I have tried this patch and it did not help at all.

I am only using one display.

Does anyone have any solutions?

Cossacks European War and Art of War work for some reason. But back to war does not work.

After following the two steps the error message no longer appears, however the game still refuses to load. Cossacks back to war engine appears on task manager as suspended.
