Is this game bugged
I feel like this game is setting you up to fail. I keep going through the first 'tutorial' and, before I can win, something drastic always happens and everyone dies.

The most recent example: the whole game I'm told there's no enough food. I know there's something not quite right with the game, so I build 20 greenhouses. I don't trade food. I keep it all.

It doesn't matter. Food's still low. I've had less than half this number of greenhouses previously and yet those games food was plentiful. This game food will not suffice. It doesn't make sense.

Luckily for the most part I'm able to ignore this. I play the game, do all the things that killed me the last few times; I watch for 'spores', pause, create hospitals decontamination centers upgrade air filters etc; I make sure there's enough water, build plenty even though I'm over satisfactory, etc etc.

Pretty much the same time as it always happens, skulls pop up. There's no food at all. Everyone's starving. I have 20 greenhouses all producing and yet there's no food. Everyone starves. Everyone dies.

I'm on easy mode.

So is this inevitable? Is the programming bugged? Is MY game bugged? Why does this keep happening? I've seen it happen with plenty of other management games, but usually there's a weird secret code type deal (like you have to build 20 of these special units they don't tell you about) that stops everyone from dying in minutes no matter what you do. Is there a cheat code for this game? It seems pretty good and I'd like to continue to play, but if this is just another case of a management game that's practically unwinnable someone please let me know. Or if there's a literal bug that's been discovered on some specific downloads...

Please help.

Do you even have enough colonists to work in those greenhouses? Spamming facilities won't always give you more but drag your whole colony down instead.

That's a very specific solution to a very general problem I've posted about. Why would that change the fact that there was plenty of food previously but not on this one? Nonetheless, I'll try it tonight but I'm guessing if it works, some other apocalyptic issue will appear.

Here are two key tips the OP will want to know...

1) don't let morale get below 50% - Morale is practically a nuclear bomb in this game! It will shut everything down and tie your hands so you can do nothing but sit there and wait for everyone to finish dying,,,, well your probably allowed to pick your nose or change your position in your chair as you watch your cascade failure do its thing.... you can jamb your fists on the keyboard too if you like, but nothing you do matters after a certain tipping point.
(Edit: possibly imploding housing structures might cut off a cascade failure, but i never tried it yet)

2) Use your labor priority options, they are EXTREMELY useful. For example, if you need more food, you may simply need to increase the labor priority in the farms you already have, rather than building more farms. (Although, in the case of farms, i would usually rather diversify food production with more farms before using labor options)
