How to get Expedition Ship to return home when another ship is home?

I have an Expedition Ship full of supplies that I need and I want to bring it home to drop off those supplies. But every time I'm on the map and I click the colony, it selects my Ark Ship instead. I checked the key bindings, but didn't find anything for issuing a return order. Is there a way to bring the ship back without having to send the other ship out?

Did you try clicking with right mouse button?
Select your ship and then click on colony.

I was eventually able to get it by clicking just to the south of the colony. It would be nice if there were a "return" button though.
