MAJOR Summer Update now LIVE!

This isn't just any content drop, this is a MAJOR content drop.

We've got a brand-new enemy who attacks you with its very name, a cocktail that oozes pure radiation, a range of new cosmetics and a new epic DLC that will leave you aMAZEd.

CHALLENGES ADDED

Challenges are now available in Hazard Levels! The Fox Hole Arms features a brand new room where you can access a range of challenges and their unlockable luxury rewards. We're kicking things off with 25 hidden challenges with many more coming soon. Check out our roadmap to find out when. We've also added 25 Steam Achievements that reflect the Challenges.

NEW ENEMY - WIZARD

Not to be confused with his non-magical cousin, Papa Gnome. Wizard sports red robes and a magical staff that can transform you into...A GNOME. You'll know when he's around as his name GLOWS above him.

NEW COCKTAIL - R.A.D.S

Harnessing rift radiation, R.A.D.S allows the player to exude a toxic aura that inflicts damage on nearby enemies.

NEW BAR SNACK - STEADY ON NUTS

Steady on Nuts will give you an upgradable boost to your Stamina Regen, which are purchasable in The Fox Hole Arms.

NEW MASK AND SUIT - MALLARD & TARTAN

Introducing a new starter mask and suit. Duck fans rejoice, a new Mallard Duck mask is available amongst the starter mask set. Plus, a beautiful red tartan suit for those wanting to showcase some Celtic flare.

NEW JUKEBOX MUSIC

A new piece of music is available in The Fox Hole Arms' jukebox.

NEW DLC - MYTHS AND LEGENDS MINOTAUR

This just might be our favourite DLC yet. You don't need to be a lover of Greek Myth to respect the wealth of style in this special cosmetic pack.

ADDITIONAL SMALL UPDATES

- Increased base player health to 200 up from 150

- Lowered the required amount to fulfill the quota per dimension

- Scale of the facility should now be smaller in earlier crawls

- You can now aim/zoom in the camera at any point instead of only when holding items

- Charging a throw now changes the outline color as well

Content Drop LIVE!

Welcome back for another content drop, regulars! While you might have already guessed from the roadmap that you'd be getting a new enemy, there's also some other gameplay goodies that have dropped.

Power ups, upgrade benches and the Gravity Gauntlet has undergone some exciting upgrades! Check out the full Patch v0.1.2 notes below:

NEW ENEMY - TILLY

Who is this sweet innocent child who appears to be lost in The Facility? Oh. That's Tilly. We wouldn't exactly call her sweet...or innocent, and maybe not a child either. She's also hiding a KNIFE in that trench coat and she's not afraid to use it.

You might want to run.

ADDED NEW SHAPESHIFTER DRINK PROP

-You can now turn into a Pickle.

ADDED POWER UPS

Power Ups are now available! Throughout your Crawls in the Facility, smashing crates and killing enemies will have a random chance for a Power Up drop. Collect them to give you an instant bonus that can help you or maybe even your whole team on your Crawl. Picture it now, you and your teammates are in the red, when you find a clutch HEAL Power Up and heal the entire team!

ADDED NEW VOICE LINE

-You can coo like a pigeon now.

ADDED UPGRADE BENCHES

In The Fox Hole Arms, you'll now be able to find an Upgrade Bench! This will allow you to upgrade both your Gravity Gauntlet and your scanner. They each have five upgrade levels that can make your Crawls more efficient and more fun! You also might want to keep reading for the other additions to the Gravity Gauntlet...

NEW FIXES & UPDATES

- Updated the Gravity Gauntlet so the throw can now charge into a harder throw

- Updated the Gravity Gauntlet crosshair

- Lowered the amount of items the Gravity Gauntlet can pick up to 2 by default

- Bar snacks in the pub now have their own individual display

- Adjusted ingredient spawns in levels so there's less of them but more with higher value

- Lowered the damage of the web attack on the spider

- Fixed a bug causing the web attack from the spider enemy to not root you

- Fixed a bug causing the ingredient damage numbers to not appear

- Fixed a bug causing the pinging system to not render properly

- Fixed a bug causing the Badger voice line to not play

Hazard Levels is Changing

It's been pretty quiet from us for a while, and we wanted to explain why. Over the last few months our core six-person dev team (we've grown, hurrah!) has been prototyping, testing and reworking the game behind the scenes. After playing it ourselves and running small pre-alpha tests, we came to a simple conclusion: it was not as fun as it should be. Early Access Review

Early access, and it feels so. Hazard Levels feels very technical, as in we are establishing a game loop and nothing else. No intro dialogue to show us what we’re doing and why? Just... begin the game loop? I’m still interested, but can you throw us a bone of story or context to what’s going on other than the trailer?

Current state of the title: go into hazardous area, use gravity gun to lasso valuable “things” and then bring them back to the collection point. Survive whatever monsters spawn. You have no defense other than your gravity tether, and there is no feedback to show you throwing physics objects at them causes damage, especially since it takes at least 6 direct hits to kill anything. It’s frustrating, and without something to give it meaning I have no reason to do more than one dive.

Currently, Hazard Levels is a game loop demo that keeps me engaged for an hour. Add a story and give the player some visual feedback to show that, yes, the chair they threw at the wizard-gnome did damage. And either reduce enemy health or increase the damage caused by thrown physics objects! Above all, add a sense of progression to the dives. I presume fleshing out the story and game world will accomplish this.

[[ update 1 ] After playing a few more dives, I do not like all the trekking back and forth I must do. You can only hold 4 items at a time, and two of the slots are for the scanner and gravity gun. You need a rift stabilizer device to progress to the next area. This means the player will have to trek back to the start to get one of these things, on top of walking back and forth collecting objects and bringing them to the drop-off point. Of course it’s designed for multiplayer and all of this will go much faster with more than one person helping, but the sheer amount of hitpoints these enemies take to die is frustrating. Thrown physics objects just don’t do much damage, and it’s not worth fighting the monsters. So far I’m not digging this game loop. It lacks any kind of exploration or sense of progression. It’s not really horror unless there’s some context, and I don’t even see a hint of a game story, let alone a promise. So far, it’s simply not fun. I don’t think this is for me, but I am waiting to try future updates before giving up entirely.]
