SPOILER ALER-- Terran Plot Question
I'm at the point in the Terran Plot where, if you side against the Terrans you have to capture the M6. I thought I was well prepared, but a Kyoto with escorts showed up in addition to the two Vidars and fighter escort for the M6. Is that supposed to happen? No way I can handle that at this point in the game.

If you have the resources to build an TOA after main plot to start Terran plot, you should be able to afford M8 bombers. Dozens of Tomahawk Heavy Missile (100 * Tomahawk Heavy Missile = 2403200 cr max) can eliminate Kyoto and Vidars. To deal with escort fighters, use heavy swarm missiles (ex. Typhoon Missile) to kill slow M3s and light swarm missiles (ex. Wasp Missile) to deal with fast M4 and M5.

To solve the firepower problem, I build complexes to mass produce Flail Barrage Missile and Hammer Heavy Torpedo after main plot finished. Nothing can stand against the firepower of a full loaded M7M.

If you choose a start that started you off in that isolated Boron sector you don't need to be able to afford a standard TOA to start the Terran Plot. The one you build to escape to Paranid space and eventually start messing with the HUB counts towards unlocking the Terran Start.

A developer explained about this at Egosoft forum, though I don't remember which post. A standard TOA is necessary to start Terran Plot, but bugged before 1.2. They've already fixed it.

If the Terran Spy Start still ignores this condition, I hope you can report it to Egosoft.

It was a kidnap mission, who expects to face the most powerful capital in the game during a basic mission? If they told me I needed to face the fleet I would have taken the time and brought the right ships. I thought it was basically a boarding tutorial. My question was is this a bug, or is the Kyoto supposed to show up as a scripted part of the mission?

Well...the Kogarasu Maru (the name from famous katana owned by The Imperial House of Japan) is a top secret ship of Terran, built with lots of extreme rare materials. I think it is normal for the USC to protect it with all cost.

I can't figure out which script defines the Terran Plot process, I suggest you post this to Egosoft forum and wait for developer's answer.

The Kyoto is indestructible and must be a scripted part of later plot. I brought my Cerebrus
and several M6s this time and got it down to zero hull in just a few minutes, but after multiple crashes just before that point (as a script was obviously executing) it continuously regenerates just enough hull to stay above zero. I was taking the hull down very fast with my fleet, then each time just as it should explode, it instead comes back to life and starts moving and shooting again with no way to kill it. I just took the Maru and jumped everyone out of sector to continue the plot.

Confirmed, for those interested. I just went back in to the sector after the plot advanced and killed the Kyoto and it died the death I expected it to die last time.

That's really interesting. It seems we are not allowed to eliminate all witnesses of the hijacking, that’s too bad. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
