but Terran Ships have harder hulls so require better marines, the Hull Polarizing Device makes them almost impossible though, especially if you are not using boarding pods
Commonwealth/Pirates have much lower requirements though.
Terran ships have always been much harder to board, this was not changed in FL
As for "require better marines", if my Marines stats are all at 100, they can't get any better. And if the hull polarizing device keeps you from taking over ships, then as I said, "What is the point of all that time and money spent on Marines for?"
Terran ships were always harder, true, but not impossible, so they have changed it in FL. Though I only boarded a small number in Albion, or TC, (Can't remember) I never had any problems, especially when using Marines that have all stats at 100.
Nothing has changed regarding the mechanics/entering calculation.
The only change is that more ships may have boarding defenses on them
I'm only going by 100+ of boarding attempts in previous X3 games.
Cycrow *is* a dev btw.
Since Cargobay Shielding post-1.2 prevents us from destroying the Polarizer, it's best to just blow up the whole ship and let the game spawn in a new one without either one of these.
Though using the Ion Disruptor is an option, the Hull Polarizing Device should not be able to keep Marines with Max stats from boarding a ship/s, or as I said already what is the point; just taking over smaller ships and be glad at that?
Went from system to system looking for ships, tried, I really have no clue, around a dozen and none was I able to board, they couldn't get through the hull. It just took the whole fun out of it for me, and once, I did get so angry that I destroyed the ship, lol, came back this time around and the ship was there again but with a ship full of Marines and the H.P.D. as well.
