Anyone else struggling to keep possession in fm 17? It is much harder, even with Barcelona i cant have 55%+ possession. Control, lower tempo, retain possession shorter passing, play out of defence, work ball into box and still bad possession.

i dont have this problem...but i do use Barcelona and can keep about 60% possession

It's not a must but whenever I personally prioritize possession, I don't use any of the more attacking mentalities (control and up) as a base point, as they decrease the amount of sideways and back passes. Bear in mind that on FM you've always been able to win things with the worst possession in the league, Leicester style too. Dominating possession in itself doesn't mean much in football, so shouldn't do in the game, which imo is represented fairly well. Also enabling all those possession based instructions can decrease the likelyhood of defense-splitting through balls, which can make for an added struggle to break packed defenses down.
