When you couple that with our wage bill compared to other championship clubs.
Playing with Newcastle is a double-edged sword this season. They expectations are high and the squad is assumed good enough but the reality is, we have 50 midfielders and struggle for quality. I've had a rough few months and find myself 3rd at the end of September and don't know my best 11 yet.
Anyways, the TL:DR version,
Some premiership clubs have to pay over the odds to get players in, so when they decide the player hasn't worked out and try to shift them on, their wage is too high for any 'average' team's wage structure. I can't pay more than £45k for a key player.
I tried to buy Sweinstieger from United and he wanted £250k p/w :D
