Do you get the same problems as Phillip? like go 1 goal up then have 3 scored against you?
No he doesn't. He is on an older release, keeps trolling players of the game if you look into his history and I'm getting tired of this, so here goes (I actually tried to help but get the abuse I expected there to be). He barks on about supposedly opposition superkeepers, cheating AI and getting rigged, when in fact his opponents don't even need a keeper most of the time. http://i.imgur.com/x9MB3Ej.jpg Funny, isn't it.
What Phillip faces may well be an issue with the game, as there is some really weird stuff going on with some formations, therefore without spotting, he could reload as much as he like. I really hope the wide midfielders will be fixed with a patch, as their positioning in parts in my opinion has little to do with football.
You are right, this is not fun anymore.
From what I have seen around the forums, Fourfourtwo79 is a pleasant fellow always willing to help people out by raising some good questions and posting constructive comments. Some people just have the need to vent their rage over this game just because...
The game ain't perfect we know it, I will probably even skip this version since I offered 17 to my brother, it's not a worthy upgrade from 16, atleast for me.
I have reloaded my share of games and without changing much or anything at all, there were different outcomes.
Which makes sense, because, at its core, it is a bucket load of random number generators, affected by a bucket load more variables.
Very often (particularly early in the release cycle) some variables throw things out of whack, and every year there are a few examples of variables aligning (in 14, overconfidence and the wrong press conference could halt a good run dead 9 times out of 10) to make a game nearly unwinnable, but I have my doubts as to whether anyone else could replicate this, even with your save.
And, in my experience, the kind of people that reload a game twenty times until they get the "right" result are the kind of people that can be counted upon to find fault with a game because they don't have the patience to play it properly.
But then that's what this game has felt like for years. Like far too much of what you actually do is next to worthless next to whatever random actions is decided by the engine. Yet like a mug I keep buying it, hoping it'll improve... and each version is slightly better than the last but there are always glaring failures.
This year, so far the passing is atrocious, especially long-ball/goalkeeper distributions. The vast majority of the time, it goes into the middle of nowhere, where there happens to be an opposition player. And defensively, marking or closing down is an absolute joke. Strikers and goalkeepers (normally completely broken) actually seem pretty much spot on.
I'm sure SI will patch things in and make it better over the next 6 months, but this is without a doubt the absolute last version I will buy. I've paid for this, so I'll attempt to get some semblance of my money's worth out of it, but I'm losing the will. Uninstalling and condemning it to the hidden games list of my library is just a matter of time.
I know some will always see it as my fault and I'm just a hopeless manager...and maybe I am. I wasn't bad though a few years ago. maybe I've just lost it.
Having thought about it, what I'm going to do is to to play 2 games side by side. Same team, try to make the same signings...which hopefully won't be difficult as I only made 3.
One game I will involve myself in the match play and the other I will set the same simple basic tactic game after game and not involve myself in the match.
I'll see how the two seasons unfold and hopefully it will prove me wrong and the team I'm involved with finish higher than the team I don't bother with. If they finish in the same position there may be something wrong.
I do apologise to anyone i offended. I don't normally complain. This had just got a bit too much.
I too from time to time encounter matches that simply can not be won, under any given circumstance.
And it's the same kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that happens in those matches.
1: My DC's just watch and backpeddle, allowing opposition to advance freely.
2: My sidebacks are nowhere near where they should be, allowing opposition free roam on either flank.
3: Opposition keeper plays the match of his life, no matter how many times i reload.
4: No matter how many shots on target I have, could be 20-2. I would still lose 1-2.
I don't mind losing matches when the other team is genuinly better.
But every now and then, the game decides that i should lose no matter what and the most ridiculous outcomes occur.
Leading the league by 10+ points in April, play at home versus a relegation zone team.
My team is in form, on fire.. smashing competition left, right and center.
Then this useless team of twits come to my home pitch and kick the ever living ♥♥♥♥ out of my team in 20 out of 20 reload attempts.. what the actual F.
There's no point trying to hide the facts anymore, FM is rigged to make you lose.
