Has anybody been able to complain about refereeing?

Every once a while I get a "tip" during autosave that if I complain too much about referees, it can have adverse consequences. Ok, hint taken, but it seems completely useless as I have never been given any chance to complain about refereeing.

Not even when I had 3 goals refused for offside (one was an offside foul though, 2 were offsides without player interfering the game), nor when opponent wins 2-1 with two very harsh penalties (also according to commentary), nor when I have player sent of easily while losing 2 players for injuries from opponent's hard tackling.

I would really like to complain about referee at least sometimes. This seems the biggest flaw in the generally disappointing conversation part of the game. The press-conferences are also extremely repetitive. I think I could count the questions the press has, and the ones they ask week in week out are less than 10.

Of course, it often also doesn't give you the answer option you'd like, and the one I would like to have to other questions too is the equivalent of complaining about the ref: disagree with the fact of the statement. So, if they ask about whether my player will get back in the team after making the error of taking a red card in a big match, I would sometimes want to defend the player by saying that he didn't really make an error, but the ref made the error to send him off, or that he was left with no choices by his team mates.

I'd also like some better communication with players. I have a loan striker on status "rotation" complaining about lack of field time. Only options I have are to promise him more either unconditionally or on some condition, or tell him I can't play him more than that. But the player has played significantly more than any striker in my team! Why can't I tell him that? He is wrong about lack of field time, he is supposed to be rotated, and has started most of the matches.

In sum, I don't mind refs players press etc. making mistakes, that's just humane about them, but I'd like to be able to dispute their claims when they are wrong. Or even when they aren't. Managers often complain about refereeing even when the ref is aboslutely correct. Why can't we?

yeah, i really agree with you !
And there should be a way this influence the referee.
But i think that in the game, referee are supposed not to do a single mistake, so if there is a clear error from the referee, it's a coding issue.

I just created a post where i saw an opponent offside of more than 10 meters (yeah, really ^^) and i had no way to complain about it...

Maybe there should be a mod whith more realist things with referee, like corruption, errors, pressure with the managers, etc... And where complaining or speaking in the media would have influence.

That must not be in the game for everyone, since it can be boring or disturbing for some people, but it would be a nice mod. Add that with a mod for doping, it will be perfect to be the most corrupted manager ever ^^

The game does rate the referee performances, though, and the commentators sometimes say that decision seems harsh or even wrong. To me that suggests that the refs are not always right in the game. Which is fine by me, and seems to be fine by you. lol… all we complain about is that we aren't allowed to complain! And it seems strange to me since there is this advice not to complain too much. That's easier done than said when we can't complain. :)
