Board refusing to have senior affiliate
This question has been bugging me forever. Why would they reject it when it's only beneficial to the club? Is there something I'm missing or what?

First of all, how long have you been in that specefic club? If you're freshly hired, the chairman will mostly decline on your request, unless it's on the agreed philosphy of the club. I suggest you win more games for the club, before you make a request.

In my save it only took me two months before I convinced my club to build a new stadium and enhanced the training grounds, both the first and reserve teams. But again I've won a lot of games in that time.

That may be it, I always request it first day at club. Sometimes they accept it, sometimes they don't. What I don't get is when they are stubborn about it. Once I had full season where I exceeded every expectation and they still refused it. They wouldn't even budge when I demanded it in new contract negotiation.

Even if you are there for a long time, their is also the prestige to take into consideration : if your club is willing to climb the ladder of renown, the board will always reject senior affiliation, because it will result in a loss of renown...

There also may not be any clubs willing to be a senior affiliate so they don't bother looking because there are no candidates.

Sometimes they accept and can't find anyone, so I don't think it's that.
