I have a question, if a remake is 1:1 to the original, isn't it a remaster? A remake is well, making a game again, not improved graphics, but everything is from the ground up, but heavily inspired by the original game, a reboot, wouldn't be carrying the same map design as the original.

The central lift in the Maintenance level is blocked because an indestructible entity spawned inside the lift. It is the mutant in glass tubes from the Research level. It can't be killed or interacted with in any ways. It just floats there doing nothing and blocks the lift door so that I can't progress from Maintenance to Storage and thus I am being soft locked. This problem occurred only after installing 1.2 and starting a new game with the female hacker.

Remakes and remasters are not technological standards, they differ from one developer to the next. Generally a remaster is a less extensive re-release of a game (sometimes to release it on a newer platform with some slight graphical/performance enhancements ), and a Remake is making the game again in a new engine (sometimes with the exact same story and gameplay like The Last of Us Part 1, other times with changes that make sense because of modern game design and control conventions (like System Shock and Dead Space). There’s no point in arguing about it because what does or does not get changed in a remake (like story elements, characters) is down to the discretion of the developer. What changes you personally would or would not accept as valuable and worth spending your money is subjective and not something anyone else could be expected to know.
