GAME BREAKING BUG: Reactor Self Destruct Sequence

Input code in reactor core to start self destruct sequence and died after flipping switch. After loading an autosave and returning to reactor core I was unable to flip switch to start self destruct sequence. Switch reads "already activated", but won't allow me to progress. Game is locked until this gets fixed as every previous save file seems damaged as well.

The status of the reactor switch is currently tied to the achievement unlock. This needs a fix ASAP. Without messing with achievement status its only possible to flip the reactor switch one time ever.

Haven't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that far on the GOG version, hopefully it doesn't suffer from the same issue.

Yep, exactly the same thing happened to me. Died after activating the reactor self-destruct, re-loaded and now no matter how far back in saves I go to, I just can't progress anymore because the reactor switch is flipped up and reads "already activated".

How could something like this make it past QA?

I'm blocked by this as well. I wasted an embarrassing amount of time retracing my steps and trying over from older and older saves.

Seems like you don't need to download any program to do it, just run steam in console mode.

I started a new game after running into this problem. Even a new game will not fix it.

Yep. I can confirm that this bug does happen, and it is tied to the achievement unlocking. Using an achievement manager as a last resort does fix the issue, for that particular playthrough. The game is essentially unable to be replayed (or possibly beaten, if you reload) in its current state.

Using this same method but mine keeps saying achievement clear failed.

To be clear this is the command I am running:

achievement_clear 482400 StartReactorCountdown

Is that correct or am I doing something wrong here?

[EDIT] So after just trying again it went through, and I could pull the lever, but now the achievement isnt popping up again. Guess I will be stuck on 98% achievement limbo now :')

same issue, wanted to reload earlier save before activating the reactor self-destruct, to bring the laser rapier for Diego when encountering him in front of the lifepods . Didn't realize this bug was a thing :/ . Guess gotta wait for Nightdive to fix this. Don't necessarily want to go messing with something like SAM
