Two questions about elevators in executive

Ok, I have killed Diego boss and gotten into his office and hidden closet. I pushed a button near his desk, and this revealed a teleporter which I used. Worked my way back to Beta Grove elevator and it still says "blocked by Shodan".

Since the elevator to Engineering is not available due to "biohazard" I am kind of stuck. Another post had said that the switch near Diego's desk allowed the Beta Grove elevator to work, but not for me.

A little help is requested.

The switch near Diego's Desk is after you finish all the Groves.

Have you not destroyed the Mining Laser on Research/Reactor level yet?

It also may be unlocked through Cyberspace on the level, though I don't fully remember.

I think he's talking about the switch that opens beta grove in the first place.
That one is in Diegos "main" office, the one you saw during the intro.
It's at the right side of the map and can only be accessed via shaft from the large dining hall there since the doors are broken.

I don't recall pressing it in my playthrough though.
I thought I had unlocked it in cyberspace but I don't recall getting a message for that either.

You can unlock beta from the cyber space or from Diego's office same place from the prologue location.
I do not remember how can you access this optional office.

The after boss fight office is another one.

So worst case you complete the cyberspace and unlock beta.

Assuming all 3 groves are completed you go to the after boss fight office and try to trigger the master jettison switch.

Then do IT stuff in maintaince and replace the relay then hit the master switch again the release beta grove into the system shock 2 storyline from the beta control center inside the executive lvl.

Pckables I did destroy the Mining laser. Hash, I only know about the office with the Boss and hidden storeroom, I certainly had to go through a long shaft from a dining room to get to that one. So there is another office? Glory to be I guess I will have to find it; how do you know if you are in the right place?

Diego's Office side-door itself is unlocked through cyberspace (if the cyberspace text was to be believed). I do believe there is a button in his office, so maybe thats what unlocked the Grove? I remember going back and seeing an already-activated button but having no knowledge of what it did.

I think his office is at the end of the Beta Quad hallway where all the bedrooms are. You have to take a vent in the Bar/Lounge to get to the side-door.

Since you're there, the "dining hall" I was talking about is the one opposite to the one you were in that lead to the shaft leading to the boss fight. It should be the bigger room just above that one on the map, pretty much next door. It's restaurant/bar themed. The shaft I mean is in the upper right corner of that room. It's not the one with the keypad to be clear.

Thanks Hack, that was the answer. Now all I need is to find the enviro suit, since the enviro shield doesn't stop radiation

Envior suit V1 is inside the storage lvl it provides 83% protection so Beta will go down from 127 to 22 contamination meaning you will still take some dmg and suit blocking cost energy.

V2 suit will be find in maintaince slightly AFTER you are done with beta grove it also protects againts radiation and its protection % is stronger.
