How similar is the demo to the full version?
I'm in two minds on the demo - it's quite 'floaty' and it's hard to know if you're hitting stuff with your wrench (though I imagine that matters less later).
Is the final version a bit more 'kinetic'?

I tried to play the System Shock remaster (basically the original, which I loved, but for modern comps) but it kept crashing, so hoping to get in to this.

Thanks in advance!

Melee impact is slightly better in the full version, but still not a ton. Mostly for the wrench and pipe. If you explore it doesn't take all that long to replace them with a laser rapier, which, while it doesn't have a ton of feedback on hits, absolutely destroys enemies.

Oh, and saves don't carry over because there were a bunch of layout changes between the demo and release.

Did the demo work for you?
When I try to install it, it's 0b and basically installs an empty file.

I think that's what happens if you try to install on Linux, including on a Steam Deck. You need to force Proton compatibility.

Hey thanks for the replies. I am guessing the melee issues aren't going to be mega, as I will move up the old weapon food chain in later times. I'll mull it over, but will try to get remastered working again first then go for this though.
