how to view tutorial messages?
Hello. I have a form of ADHD. I don't always see the tutorial messages in time and they disappear rather quickly. This is an accessibility issue. Is there a way to view them again? is there a way to slow them down?
I know I can look at a guide, but it would be a bit overwhelming, I would like to get the tutorials within context, I'd just like the opportunity to actually read them.
I just loaded my last auto-save because i missed a message and lost a lot of progress, it was very demoralising and made the game feel un-fun.

maybe I should just disable tutorials to remove this source of stress. I've been playing games for 40 years, I should be able to figure it out through trial and error. is there anything I need to be careful of? you know, like using all my consumables because the item use button is in a dumb place and you can't actually change the controls without messing up the puzzle and menu controls in the process...

I also have ADHD. I played the System Shock Remake with tutorials disabled. Most of the functions can be found by inspecting the key mappings, with the exception of...

- auto-vapourise all junk (hold 'v')
- auto-sort all items (hold or tap 't' with inventory open)

Everything else can be discovered by experimenting. Some functionality is found within the different pages of the MFD (for example you can leave notes for yourself on the map page).

The rules for the puzzles can be a little confusing at times, just keep in mind: none of them are impossible, check your assumptions, and be aware of subtle visual cues and clues. All of the information is in front of you.

The same goes for the mission objectives (if you don't know what to do, read or listen to the audio logs).

Thats fantastic, thank you so much. I'll turn the tutorials off. I appreciate it.

I already figured out the electronics grid to enable the elevator, so I understand what you mean about the puzzles. It was quite fun figuring that out.
