Did the new patch introduce auto-vaporizing junk?

Title. I noticed my junk cubes were stacking up but I was hoping there was an option to disable it but I haven't seen one.

The only change is that you can now hold V to turn any junk in your inventory into cubes. It may still also turn un eaten food into cubes. So that's something to keep in mind.

Unfortunately it can't be disabled or even re-mapped... same with pressing 't' when the inventory is open - this will auto 'sort' your painstakingly organised inventory into... something.

The reason for this is they didn't have access, for whatever reason, to localisation services for patch 1.2, so instead of making a configurable menu option (translated into 7 or so different languages), the 'feature' is undocumented.

Interesting. I started a new game and it was just turning all of the surgical stuff in the first room immediately into junk cubes and I was a bit miffed because some of those can be turned into multiple Tri-Credits instead of half for the equivalent scrap amount. It is what it is, I guess.

Okay, I've yet to see an auto vaporize. You got something weird going on with bindings? It should only happen when you're holding V or whatever the controller equivalent is.

You didn't install a mod at some point and forget about it? I installed the Automatic Vaporization mod from Nexus Mods to do exactly this, although now it's been hidden.
