Gamma antenna blow up ( spoilers ! )
I want to blow up gamma antenna in engineering. After placing explosives and setting countdown to 10 seconds, Shodan locks the door which can only be unlocked by solving puzzle. All walkthroughs say to hide next to junctions panel and solve it after the explosion. However, no matter what I do, explosion always kills me. What do I do wrong? I have logical probe for worst case scenario, but I want to spare it.

The walkthroughs are outdated. You either need to find the regen bay on that level or use the logic probe to short-circuit the door. Maybe an EMP grenade could temporarily disable the door, but I haven't tried this yet - let us know if you do! I have a suspicion that stacking reflex might help, but I haven't been able to successfully do that. Might depend on puzzle configuration.

Anyway, this is probably the best use for a logic probe in the game.

^yep. That antenna was the only time in the game I used a logic probe.

Thanks for help. EMP grenade had no effect. So obviously logical probe is the only solution for me as I have no reflex booster. I wonder what one should do without any of them. Tak would make a nice softlock.

Softlock? You just come back after you've flipped the cyborg conversion bay. Die and regen. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to most people in the original game who didn't know about the trap beforehand.

It can be kinda tricky to find the way in to the regen bay. It's entirely possible that players are unaware of it by the time they're blowing up antennae.

It is possible, but there's pretty good chance that most players activated regen bay at least on some level. I kinda forgot about them as I usually press quick load right after I die

That's a good point.

I was able to survive the blast on v1.2 by standing as far away from it as possible, right up against the barrier that came down when I started the countdown. It took me down to about 15% health, but I survived. Obviously, using a logic probe is better, but I left all of mine in the cargo lift because I enjoy solving logic puzzles. So, the blast is survivable if your health is high enough and you stand in the right place.

I'm honestly surprised more people didn't realize not dying there was a bug. Not like shodan is shy about death traps.

In the original game I kept at least ONE logic probe in my inventory at all times specifically for that antennae.

same here. Solving puzzles was so fun, that i thought to myself "ehh... better keep one or two of those just to be sure". BIngo, i got killed and fortunatelly used a savegame to redo the whole thing.

Confirmed this works, thanks! Topped myself up and activated the shield prior to detonation and survived against the barrier.

If this is a necro.. sorry, steam does not show year posted in date. After placing C4 on Gamma Antenna, run back against the forcefield door and before it blows and pop Shield V3 (Make sure to have full health aswell) much easier to do the puzzle achievement that way. ;D
