Anyone else think the cargo lift is too small?

I get that inventory management is a big part of the game, and you can't carry everything with you, nor should you want to, seeing as how you only have four slots to equip weapons and at a certain point, you get kind of bogged down with equipment anyway. But giving the "Item Box" such a limited capacity when you can still store items in the cluster of storage next to the lift on maintenance doesn't really affect the game positively or even meaningfully (except perhaps on the hardest difficulties where there's a time limit,) it just increases the amount of time it takes to swap your loadout and sort your inventory, when you have to hoof it back to maintenance to make weapon drops.

Yeah, I'd like it to be significantly larger so that I could store all weapons and ammo I'm not currently using in there.
Leaving caches of guns and ammo around the game world isn't really a great solution, especially because you can't annotate the map beyond placing the same pin there that you have to place for literally everything else.

I think the idea was to hold a single weapon and maybe some ammo for it. Though I never used it much.

Yeah, I quickly abandoned it in the favor of just piling stuff up outside some central elevator.
