Two things that keep preventing me from replaying
I liked the game but there are two things I feel just broke the pacing completely in this game, to make it fun to try and speedrun or try different difficulties.
1. The intro, mainly no option to skip it. I can't stand even the thought of having to re-do it every time I want to try a new combination of difficulties. Please, developers, let us skip this part. PLEASE!
2. Cyberspace. Was easy to hop in and just get it done in the original. Something about it felt much better while in the remake the arena-like fights break up the pacing way too much. I'm currently on a replay where I saved right before a cyberspace portion, and I just can't bring myself to start the game and do it because it's not really challenging in a fun way, and it takes time that I want to spend on exploring Citadel station.

The cyberspace segments are terrible. And they were terrible in 1994 too. Should be a way to skip, cheat, or bypass them like the logic node for the puzzles. At least give the option to change their difficulty without having to restart the game. By the time you realize you suck at them, you are pretty deep into the game.

The only part of the intro you have to actually play is interacting with the laptop. The rest you can skip.

Agreed. Cyberspace is a slog. And the bridge (final) level feels like an afterthought that throws out all the things that make the game great to begin with. Otherwise-this is a dream remake that retains the soul of the original.

Set cyberspace difficulty to 1, that's what I've done in my current run (mission 2, puzzle & combat 3). Cyberspace just isn't remotely enjoyable to me so I'll skip my way through it as fast as possible.

Not sure what the issue with the intro is, most of it can be skipped, only the part where you're breaking into the system with your laptop can't be.

Common issue with this kind of game, when you're on the home straight towards the final encounter, the game suddenly becomes far more linear and combat focused.

Hopefully someone will mod a skip mod or something. Cyberspace is garbage, honestly in (almost?) every game those levels suck.
I've also had to replay executive several times because i dumbed out in a tunnel with mines, now i got to maintenance and it is also bugged with stutters, that lead to a crash.. Losing my patience to even finish the game. If i crash again might wait for the patch even.

you know you can put cyberspace difficulty on 0 and just breeze through it right? if its accurate to the original cyberspace wont even have enemies then

the later ones with the more winding mazes were pretty cool, stuff where you were almost always rotating.

Well, actually there is three things. The reactor override lever can be pulled exactly once. As in once per steam account. It doesn't work in old saves, it doesn't work in new Playthrough.

I made a mistake, and reloaded a save after pulling the lever, and now I am stuck, unable to progress the game.

You're joking!

You can work around it using a steam console command that disables the achievement associated with pulling the lever.

I actually didn't know that. Thank you, buddy.

Respectfully disagree. Cyperspace is designed much better in the remake. No more disorientation from transparent walls, no more hidden software upgrades, no more ICE delfecting your projectiles back at you bs, you don't have to avoid one thousand mines in tight corridors etc.

The crash issue in the maintainance cyberspace can be either avoided or at least get passed so you donät have to do it again after the crash. The frame drops leading up to the crash starts in the last room with the node you have to destroy. As soon as you enter there, destroy it asap then dash to the exit. You don't need to kill the enemies.
If the stutters and drops has started and you make it out, it might still crash but you managed to get the autosave with the cyberspace section complete. If you are fast enough it wont even crash.

Yeah after a tedious hour ten tries I finally got the storage unlock in repair office maintenance level then wow stuttered and fatal crash no auto save was completed shooting the end fountain thing. I can't play this lousy cyber space combat. Need a way to skip with logic probe or some other thinking man's puzzle not this stupid arcade shoot up bum rush mini game
