what weapons to replace and when?
sorry to be asking this question here on the forums if it already has been. the problem i find myself running into is i keep finding ammo for weapons i no longer use.
i'm in the exec suites level, and just found 3 entire magazines of mag pulse rifle ammo, even though i ditched the weapon on the last floor simply because other weapons have better damage.
as i understand it the way this game partitions out weapons and other resources(assuming you're not OCD and searching EVERYWHERE) is similar to that of survival horror, and you're supposed to replace certain weapons with stronger ones. i.e. in RE4 they had a similar system where certain weapons were just *better* , even when upgraded.
i'm a little confused as to what and where i'm supposed to replace.
currently carrying the shotgun with an assload of dragon's breath that i keep finding, the AR with a full stack of ammo, the magnum with 3 full magazines, the aforementioned mag pulse ammo, the nade launcher with 11 total grenades, the energy rapier, and the SMG with nearly a full stack of teflon coated ammo.i keep finding all of the above types of ammo as enemy loot(minus the mag pulse rounds), so iv'e been thinking the game wants mee to keep using the weapons i keep finding ammo for, and i have my sparq and wrench in my cargo lift in case i run out of all my other ammo, which is looking less and less likely as i shoot my way through this floor.(in the case of the wrench, it's because i loved the hell out of SysShock2 back in the day and old habits die hard)
iv'e already found the railgun, and it looks sick as hell but my inventory is tighter than ashley's pants.
what do i do?
if there's a guide made already, please link it, because it's not here on steam.

Gas againts organic and emp againts robot.It takes up much space.

SMG is likely the best weapon once upgraded and fully replaces the pistol even when unupgraded vs fully upgraded pistol.

Basic rounds againts mutants and teflon againts everything else.
Ton of stuff drops ammo for it.

High dps close range.1 clip downs almost everything with teflons.

AR is slightly worse than SMG still good ammo found so usefull till the end better from longer ranges.

Magnum with laser sight on enemy head good opener for good dmg.And good at medium distances.Once modded press"t"to laser sight.

Over all okay againts everything.Enemy can notice laser sight.

There is an energy weapon in alpha it can replace sparkbeam if that is not dmg upgraded otherwise it will replace it once it is also modded.

Railgun not used it yet.But likely a sniper weapon with rare ammo.Other used it againts bosses.Deal extremely high dmg.

Over all Imo SMG and AR is good the rest is up to you.
Magnum is also kinda good for the space it takes.

Imo shotgun is good to save ammo for others but gets worse past the virus mission and takes up more space than a magnum.

There is also a weapon which can fire plasma cores like in OG it can easily kill you or the enemy......Not used it.

Make sure to grab the 2 inventory upgrades one from storage 5 the second one from the chess puzzle.

I've not used a lot of the weapons so far, but just checking... You realise your magpulse is SPECIFICALLY intended for taking out robots, right? Not cyborgs. Full robots.

How does the damage from other weapons like railguns etc compare to it in this role?

Magpulse should work wonders on robotic enemies, while being lackluster on everything else. (i'm not a fan of it, i got better results with SparQ)

Pretty much every weapon every now and then feels like "wow, this will be my super for panic mode", and it will get a replacement 1/2 floors later

Shotgun is your early super weapon, just like Magnum and assault rifle.

Minipistol gets replaced by Scorpion SMG, and by that time you should have 200+ 9mm rounds to feed it.
Shotgun IMHO gets replaced by Magnum/Assault Rifle.

SparQ beam gets replaced by ion rifle

Iron pipe -> wrench -> laser rapier
