Well, judging from what the cyborgs talk to themselves when you are stealth, you probably ended his unimaginable suffering.

Female Cyborg: "My spine... I don't have my .....best is just to let go..."

Forever alone; on this station of mine; no Surgeon to chill with; have I crossed a line?

There are plenty of other cyborg surgeons to keep you company

Killing them is straight out an act of mercy.

I only killed him on medical deck by accident. On all the other levels I have my cyber doc friends

I kill them and then kill the prototypes.

Pretty sure they prefer this result.

Well if you want to join the surgeon, just go to a level with the restoration bay still set to cyborg mode and kill yourself.

There's a chance SHODAN will put you right back in the cyborg surgeon's place!

It's interesting to observe other player's reaction to these cyborgs. People have been asking if there's any achievement or gameplay effect to killing them. Given there's none and that there's no loot, the choice is now purely based on player's own subjective perspective, and so is the reaction.

I killed one and immediately reloaded so now I'm leaving them be. But I'm also asking myself if it's the best thing to do lore-wise. Maybe I'm indeed ending their suffering if I choose to kill them. Not to mention the potential threat they may pose if they remain alive. I know they don't, but just hypothetically imagining myself in that situation I'd think twice.

Well, at least one of the cyborgs does have a death rattle of "Thank... you..."

I've been killing them, although the first made me falter momentarily. It's the merciful thing to do, plus they are thralls of SHODAN and probably responsible for creating the more violent cyborgs around Citadel. Besides, what if they flip the switch back to 'Evil'? You never know!

ON THE OTHER HAND

Assuming your mission is successful, maybe they can be saved?

Killing them benefits you because they have a chance at dropping a med patch. Or, at least they did in the backer beta. If they still do it seems like they made it rarer. SHODAN needs to fix her med-patch vending machines :Grineer:

I kill them. From a pure game perspective, removing audio sources helps me better notice respawns and not end up ambushed. From an in-universe perspective, Shodan tracking me is not good, and even if the Cyborg isn't killing me, it is listening and reporting in to Shodan. The hacker doesn't seem to be a particularly moral character, so I doubt there's much guilt going on from someone who's developed this particular set of talents.

From how I see it if I didn't kill them, they're free to finish the job of turning those poor saps into cyborg slaves to Shodan, so maybe there's a chance for those lads of saving? probably after some intense operations.

What about scrub-bot? He-ll be your friend and keep the ship clean at the same time
