Mining Laser Puzzle HALP!

I have spent hours trying to get this one to work to no avail. Needing help. Everytime I hit the laser button in the Research floor my game is over.

1. I got the science keycard
2. I got the code in the library from the cyberspace it said 199 when I was done.
3. I entered the code in the security override, it worked fine.
4. I placed the isotope-x22 in the slot where it's supposed to go.
5. I hit the laser button in Research and my game is over every time.

What am I missing?? Also, those yellow bio enemies never come out of their glass life support things.

after you place the isotope there is button to engage the shields.. only then fire the laser.

You're right, I forgot to do that. Unfortunately, after doing that I still get the same game over screen after hitting the laser button.

Edit, enabled another lever and now it says "Safety Override, Beam not fired"

Oh man, you assisted shodan in destroying the earth. Can't say I haven't done that.

The safety override is in the reactor room, you reach it from the lower cat walk.

Research lvl:

In the research lvl you need sciene access card from Admin security.

That keycard opens many optional areas.The mandatory one is in a radiated are inside that area an optional cyberspace which can be used to disable most of the radiation in that region.

"isotope X-22".will be in a red forcefield briefcase you can disable it close by and retrieve it.
Do NOT drop it.


Reactor lvl:
You need to bring "isotope X-22" inside the Reactors "Radiation Shield Controls" place it somewhere AND flip the switch so the shield is ON.

Research lvl:You need to enter "libary location and complete the cyberstuff.Once out the nearby screen will flash a 3 digit code writte it down it is random for everyone.

Inside the reactor lvl you need to find to "Safety Override. location.
Inside there you need to enter the laser code AND flip a switch="Safety Interlocks Disabled."

THEN you need to go back to research: General Control then control room and fire the laser.

You can do the isotope and laser code in 1 visit as well I just wrotte it down randomly.

I figured it out I had the Safety Interlocks Enabled I went back and fixed it and I'm now on the Executive level. Thank you all so much!!!
