Is the game map confusing to navigate?
I do like the genre and I see there is a mini-map. I don’t enjoy getting lost for hours in video games anymore, probably due to being more directionally challenged in 3D spaces as I’ve gotten older.

How has it been for you?

Umm, it wasn't bad for me personally but that is one of the bigger things being echo'd that people don't know what to do or where to go.

You are given information about things and if you weren't listening or forgot because it took hours for your to arrive where that info was needed, then it'll be difficult.

But overall there is a lot to explore and you might get a small bit of anxiety of which way you should go first so maybe it might not be for you? Which I hope isn't the case because I get that and absolutely loved the game.

It's going to feel confusing for the first two floors, then it gets better. Be warned that this is a dungeon crawler at heart that puts a high focus on exploration; although it is also a very fair game with sensible solutions.

The game does not hold your hand in any way. You will open the map as you explore the station. There are no objective markers or anything like that to point out where exactly you need to go. If you are one of those gamers that skip every dialog and can't take a few seconds to read the messages you find around, you better skip this game. You need to listen and read to understand what you are doing or where to head next,it is not hard to understand. You will have to backtrack quite a few times to complete different objectives. There are also icons on map, shops, upgrades, respawn etc etc. hope this helps

navigating the map isn't terrible, sometimes rooms overlap each other though and it's not very clear on the map itself. The issue most people are having are not knowing where to go because there is no objective markers on normal difficulty and you have to find and listen to/read all the logs. Apparently if you play on mission difficulty 1 there are objective markers though. Kinda would ruin the fun IMO but people expect their hands held in video games these days.

You should also know that the game has customizable difficulties, and if you set mission difficulty to easy then you will get objective markers to help lead you through the game.

I imagine for most people, yes. Especially since it doesn't give good elevation information.

The waypoint option (mission difficulty 1) does literally nothing and I stopped playing until they patch it because I'm sick of getting lost every two minutes.

I didnt play yet but i hear the map is the same as the old game PLUS some new side passages and secret areas. So it's a lot to take in. I dig that sort of thing but its not for everyone. Areas do look distinct enough though so you have a general idea of where you need to go still. You mainly just have to lookout for easy to miss key items and logs that have codes.

Honestly I never even look at the mini map to begin with. I think it's because I have a habit of exploring every room a level/floor has to offer before I move onto the next level. Some backtracking involved but overall it's not that bad. Navigating around feels much easier than the original. I don't like to binge these types of games, a level/floor a day is fine by me.

It really depends on how well you handle labyrinth style games. I love it and have had no problems, but if you find yourself easily turned around or intimidated by maze-like maps you will probably have issues playing this game.

There's also no objective markers telling you what direction to go.

It's confusing a bit, sure, but I get by. Way easier than the original, at least.

Hello. What really helped me is the message from Shodan in your media tab. It helped me know what is on each level vertically. It is engaging to figure things out and slow it down.
Looking at your map you can find some places to set a destination depending where you want to go.

the map design is horrid, everywhere looks so samey, you're given no clear indication where to go or which button needs to be pressed, it's so awful
