Just lost all save data for seemingly no reason.
Extremely disappointing. I was about 8 hours in on the storage deck and went to reload a save, but clicked the save tab instead. Fine no big deal, so I backspaced out of that, and then noticed the "Load Game" option was then grayed out. I thought it was a bug so I exited the game and reloaded it and sure enough, the continue and load option are both grayed. Start new game is the only option. What a waste of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. I don't even understand what could of went wrong. Not only that but even if it was a broken save, there's only one save slot that constantly overwrites so I can't even load a slightly older one. I'm just screwed. Don't have it in me to restart from the beginning after all that. Super sad.

Okay I may have been wrong on the one save file thing. Even so, the damn tab to create a new save slot in the bottom right is so freakin small I didn't even realize it was there until the mistake was already made.. ugh
Well, the whole save thing be careful.

There is NO confirmation for deleting or overriding a save.

Also not being able to name saves sucks -_-
There's something wrong with the game. Today I started the game and all my saves were gone. So I investigated and noticed the game created Nightdive Studios folder today in my C:\Users\User\Saved Games folder with no saves in it...

Then I checked the game folder and noticed my save games are where they always were, in: System Shock Remake\SystemShock\Binaries\Win64\SystemShock\Saved\SaveGames.

I deleted the Saved Games folder in C:\Users\User\ folder and now my saves are available again...

GOG version. No idea if the same can happen with Steam, but it's really strange.

EDIT: From further investigation, it seems like the game decides to use C:\Users\User\Saved Games for saving if the Saved Games folder exists. If the folder doesn't exist, then it saves into the game's folder. So if you play the game and you don't have the Saved Games folder in User folder, and later some other game will create Saved Games folder, your saves will disappear.

Not sure if this is the issue you are having.

I get something completely different of that: Saved Games in the first folder and no folder whatsoever in the second location, start game and NO saved games at all!!!

Can someone fix this!!!

This has happened to me TWICE now with no method of recovering as far as I've found.

Similar problem here. I took a break after a 3 hour session. This is my *first* 3 hours, not counting when I initially tested that the game would run when I bought it about a month ago. When I returned after my break to boot up the game again, the main menu changed suddenly to gray out "Continue" and "Load Game" options. I cannot load my game and seemingly lost 3 hours of progress. I'm not keen on starting over again if it might happen again. This is highly disappointing.

If the game started with admin rights it uses admin user save game folder. If you start it without admin rights it will not see admin folder saves and use local user save game folder.

You can rename your important *.sav save files found in "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\Nightdive Studios\SystemShock\Saved\SaveGames" with the Explorer and the game will find it.

Just came to say the same thing happened to me, I was nearly 12 hours in and today my save game is totally gone. Not sure I have the motivation to start again and I have nothing in the folders suggested above

I played like an hour and I think it saved, not sure if I manually saved, anyway there were no saves when I loaded it back up, odd, I definitely made it to many checkpoints.
