Question about an enemy

So, I have gotten into one of I'm guessing many mini-bosses and I just cannot beat it. I'm currently in the shuttle bay and I keep dying to him and I think the boss is bugged. I have thrown 2 EMP at him. Shot about 9 rounds of shotgun both flame and normal. I have used about 50 AP Pistol. I have even used the heavy pistol on him. And nothing even hurts him or indicates that it registers my damage.

Is it bugged? Or did I miss a giant
Nope. He's bugged alright.
Holding the ALT key and seeing his health bar. Every time I hit on the head his health is going back up. That sucks...

After cheesing his movement and using corners to mess with the pathfinder I managed to kill it. Seems like hitting the legs is the only way to truly damage it. For me at least.

Do I need a truly insane amount of ammo to kill it?

The Cortex Reaver? Yeah, he is one tough mofo.

I found laying down proximity mines before the fight to be a winning strategy. But he is that tough, yeah...

Oh, man... I don't think I have enough tokens or ammo left.

It took him, iirc, like 5 proxy mines and then around 8 grenades from the launcher when I did him.

I also had the same issue had to shoot him only on the top joint on the leg really frustrating

The thing about the cortex reaver is that you cannot EMP him since he uses a human brain as a backup. Dump AP at him, Teflon rounds, explosives, also use a reflex+stamina boost

Lasier Rapier goes great with the boost combo since the rapier is a high tier weapon.

The Reaver is sort of the "Do you know how to play yet?" check, it's super fast and heavily armored. The trick is that many energy weapons hurt it a lot. A lot of guides and old time players swear by hitting it with the laser rapier, but that seems suicidal.

It's really the only way I've found that consistently works without burning all your resources.

If you are talking about Cortex Reaver (4-legged spider like hulk in large room) then mix reflex and berserk patches and slash SOB with Laser Rapier. Works like charm in less than 10 seconds. Don't forget to run around him tho.
