That said, human psychology is a strange thing.
Much like it's way, way scarier to stand on a log that's 20 feet in the air than one that is just above the ground (gravity and balance works the same way in both cases) - it's way, way more stressful to have a 10-hour time limit than not to have it even if you don't need more than 10 hours.
20 hours? Jeebus. I'm a hoarder in immersive sims. Maybe I best avoid the time limit.
Then just set everything to 3 except mission then and you get hardest difficulty without permadeath and a time limit.
Wait, you get permadeath with mission 3 too? Damn, I'd love that. Everything except the limit.
Level design is not very linear and you can move around quite freely on levels, so you'll spend a lot of time just wandering about.
So it is not recommended for the first time as you can be too slow and perma ruin your run.
And if you have OCD and want to recycle tons of stuff for resources time limit won't help.
