First door code?
I know what the original code is but I was unable to find it in the remake. Am I just retarded or is hidden really well?

you have to open the vent and crawl into the room and you'll find the code there

Haven't been able to play the final game yet, but it's on the desk in the first room, right? You have to crawl through a vent to get in.

0451. It's an older code, but it checks out.

It really goes to show you the state of the average gamer these days when you take away objective markers and dial off the handholding back to how it was in the 90's.

Lol I have been playing for 30 years, and consider myself a pretty hardcore gamer. I have never played the original, and the game is kinda all over the place with what you can interact with, everything is glowing like buttons that you should be able to press.

That wasn't the point of the statement.

The point was that no matter how long anyone has been playing games, the way games are designed in the modern era has gradually shifted our innate expectations that we just subconsciously expect for things to be a certain way. Video Games today have, by and large, become an objective marker theme park, a guided experience. So much so that when we are then taken back in time by a remake like this, our brains immediately have trouble processing what is expected, what to do, how to go about tasks.

This applies even if one has been "playing games for 30 years." I was born in 86, I've been playing that same length. It STILL happens. Your expectations subconsciously are set in the era we are in now, and something of the 90's design then sends a jarring "this feels weird and out of place" vibe through you.

Case in point, not realizing that there was an interact-able vent to climb through to discover said password to the door.

TLDR: Games today hand hold too much and the average gamer has been spoiled by it. The sense of discovery was lost with very few exceptions.

Well im sorry if I misunderstood then, thought you were making a stab at me. I totally agree most games these days are just boring because you don't have to think, plan and adapt.
