Stumped by the first puzzle

I'm already stumped. I've connected both red squares, and the full pathway between them lights up, but nothing happens. What am I missing?

I started over and chose easy puzzles. Had no problem the second time around.

I think they changed the design of the circuit breaker puzzles. Either that, randomly generated or they're different across difficulty settings. I'm playing on normal and the first puzzle had the current flow through tiles and glowing x shaped relays that you need to rotate in order to allign them properly with the spot where the current can go in and out. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

You need to connect the red squares from the correct side, not just any side.

Check for a tiny red marker on one side of the square. Connect the line to that side to make it work.

the blue ones are directional and can only input/output from 2 sides, but i can't really see the indicators in your screenshot which is weird, there should be markers on the sides of them

Yeah I havent been able to get any power through them at all, tried all combinations, dont see any indicators either.

Yeah I'm hardstuck on the first puzzle I've encountered as well. Looked through others posts and checked the pdf manual. Nothing is helping. If I can't solve this by the 2hr mark it's getting refunded.

I solved it, power wasnt going through any of the blue ones.

Playing the GOG version currently, I have run into the same problem with the first puzzle:

One can adjust the difficulty of the puzzles as well when the game is started.

Are the puzzles randomly generated? The first puzzle looked very different for me and was very easy.

Feeling really dumb here. The rotating tiles, have two small orange squares, that is the direction that they allow the flow of power. Easy puzzle after that. Thanks for anyone that offered help, and good luck puzzling others.

Same here. The power seems to NOT GOING through the blue ones. I'll have a look on the rest oft the deck, maybe some hardware parts are missing. Gamedesing is 30 years old :-) Have the original in my collection.
