After the development nightmare I would consider releasing it a success :wil:

Hopefully next patch is coming soon then I can play it for myself. I have patience.

Might be too soon to tell because the console release hasn't happened yet.

Critical and public reception is definitely a success, sales wise, probably not. I read an article a while ago where someone looked into games on Steam that have published their sales numbers, and the average was one review for every 63 games sold. At that rate, with this game having 4,727 reviews, it would have only sold about 30k copies.
The main reason is the game stinks....you think you are paying for an good RPG game and in fact all you get is a 60"s game of of space invaders....Blah!

Those estimates are always wrong. Review counts are not and have never been reliable ways to estimate purchase counts. Particularly considering this game was released on multiple platforms on pc.

The review count you're using is also incorrect meaning even if using review counts to calculate average sales wasn't utterly incorrect, you'd still be wrong. 4727 is when filtered for english reviews. The total review count is over 6000.

Did you even read the game's description? You paid for it and didn't play the demo? I just don't even know, man.

I really hope it did well. Talent must be rewarded with success.

Uh, redo your math, if you take that method that means the game has sold around 300k copies.

Owners: 200.000 to 500.000. I would say that is pretty impressive for such a game. Add to that the sales they will have on consoles.

Indeed. 👍
I guess It Is ok but not really. Only die hard pc players like us care about system shock. Compared to the dead space remake Its not nearly as big or trendy. :datadisk:

Why are they struggling so much?
This next patch is taking forever.

Critical and basic stuff like cloud saves taking this long to be implemented is ridiculous. Is this a one man band or someone's side gig or something?

They're timing patch 2 with the release of the physical backer goods from the kickstarter, and (I suspect) the console release, probably with the re-worked ending.

My totally unconfirmed interpretation is they'd rather have new players experience the 'full' vision and so aren't particularly motivated to release a QoL patch earlier.

Sucks, but there are plenty of other decent games to play in the meantime, and the experience will be better if you hold out.
