Executive Cyberspace

Is there a trick to this? I get to the tunnel filled with mines and then die, wasting ten minutes every try. I've tried holding backwards and shooting, holding backwards and dodging which is impossible due to movement speed. Can you move faster with KBM? I've just been using a controller.

i've been using kbm and it's been pretty easy so far

Yeah I posted a thread about this. I found the only way to do it reliably was to just cheese it, ie: wedge myself in a corner as far away as I could and then snipe the enemies.

I can get past the enemies just fine, it's the tunnel of death with a thousand mines that I have no idea how to complete.

I know the cyberspace sections were in the original game, but I dislike them so much.

Holding backwards and just staying on the left side worked for me during multiple runs of that cyberspace.

The trick with the mine corridors:
1) Hold backwards.
2) Hold left or right to constantly collide with a wall.
3) Hold down the fire button.

With the much slower movement from holding back and constantly bumping off a wall (or even 2 walls if you can manage it), your shots have enough time to clear out the mines in front of you.

I somehow always manage to enter with the mines vertical, it never occurred to me to enter so they'll be horizontal. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it when I manage to find motivation again.

If it's the tunnels with the mines, you can bump the walls to slow yourself down.

You shouldn't need to hold backward, you will need to hold down fire. If it's what I think you are talking about there are three lanes of mines, pick one lane and stay in it the whole way. From memory the easiest are left, left, centre if you are upright. Don't bump against the walls that hurts you / you lose health.

YES! This is by far the hardest CYBERSPACE section in the ENTIRE game.
I'm playing the game through now for the 4th time and I still can't do it without cheating.

The trick is (as has already been said here):

1. Hold backwards.

2. Try to touch(BUMP) the walls, it will slow you down.

3. Continuous fire on the mines

4. For me it's easier to dodge left and right. So note the orientation of how to enter the section.


ANNOTATION:
I think this place needs a massive overhaul. It's completely disproportionately harder and extremely frustrating. At cyberspace level 3 it can stay in it as far as I'm concerned, but at level 2 and especially level 1 it should become SIGNIFICANTLY easier.

Crouch to move down, jump to move up to dodge them while holding down fire to clear the mines you don't wanna dodge.

Got it first try even though I did really poorly in the room before and entered with two health bars left. All I did was make sure the mines were lined horizontally and hugged the left side while holding backwards and fire, no need to hit the wall.

It might be dependant on what difficulty Cyperspace is set to, but I know that on max difficulty hitting walls is bad, you lose health from it.

There are waaaaaay more mines in my tunnel- it's basically full, you can't dodge them and must shoot them.

On 3 you take a bar of damage, IIRC. Which is far better than hitting a mine and losing 5+ bars.
