Suggested progression route

Can anyone suggest the best route to go about hitting each floor? On floor 3, which that floor has two other elevators that can go to various places. I know there is talk in audio and emails about the laser being used and the possibility of turning on the shield to block it. But assume thats not the ultimate goal of why I'm here.

You need to do both, eventually you need items from every where to progress.

Your first priority is dealing with the laser. Which is mainly focused in the research and reactor levels. But there isn't really anything stopping you from heading to storage or the flight deck to grab stuff right now. So the choice is up to you where you want to focus your attention.

Thanks! Yeah went to mant. area but it's seems a little too "high level" with what I've currently found for weapons etc. Reactor is much more manageable. Figured reactor would be a more end game thing like most space station games, but not in this case.

Get the rapier on LV3, past the door to your left and up the ladder. It doles out tremendous hurt and is rechargeable. With that in hand, you can easily tackle LVR and open the way to LV6. Visit the Alpha Grove, for the Ion Rifle. It is easy to find, and makes all other rechargeable ranged weapons obsolete.

This improves your ammo economy, making it much cheaper to take down opposition.
