Cortex Reaver Flight Deck
I've been struggling mentally with this boss, why decide to change the rules just to show a death scene? For no reason it was changed that you would revive on prior healing stations if you died on a level where you have not disabled cyborg conversion. I already disliked that change when you play on normal difficulty, but now all of the sudden if you die to the cortex reaver on the flight deck you get a permadeath just so the death scene is showed off.
It feels like such a cheap forced death that is put on you just so the developers can rub their own nipples.

Thing is, not only does the reaver exist to to absorb people with interesting brains for SHODAN (hackers especially in the original story), the whole Flight Deck is nothing but a trap designed to make you feel like there is a way to win or escape besides defeating SHODAN. Everytime you hear about the deck it's practically just an attempt to make a more dangerous place seem more useful than it could possibly be to you. We're all just curious cats on that deck. If she never changed the rules right under your nose, like with the disappearing bridge at the beginning on medical, it would seem like she didn't try to stop you at all. Honestly, 3 secure force fields in a row are a significant warning that something is up. That room is locked tighter than anything below the top of the station, definitely anything you've seen up to that point.

Already stated my points before but one other thing I could add is that you acn just save scum on the game anyway which defeats the entire purpose of this game mechanic that is introduced with this enemy unit. If the game had a save station instead of being able to save anywhere I would agree more. Despite my opinions about this topic I do see the points everyone are making from both gameplay and lore perspective and why you'd argue it.
But hey, that is the fun of opinions. 3 humans could be in a room and there'd be 6 opinions.

Right before you die, you can manually load back a save if you so desire, when your still in the animation of dying.
If you re a bit slow you can wait for the scene to start where the Reaver is assimilating you then hit the down arrow on your keyboard once and hit enter to reload your last save. You are effectively activating the Continue option of the menu that is active at that point but not yet visible and will bypass the lengthy animation.

Didnt know that, thanks buddy very appreciated.
You can always drop proxy mines to the the spawn point of the bosses you can memorise them.

Depending on the amount placed and combat difficulty chosen you will either do serious dmg or flat out kill them.

As always emp nade+reflex+berserk+rapier+combat shield on can likely brute force it.

Or emp nade+shoot with reflex might need a second emp combat shield on.

Disagree heavily, same with how you are forced into a forced perspective to zoom in on the boos so you can not run in to a safe corner at the beginning of it. I do not like when rules change like that, especially since you already fight boss worthy enemies before that.

Speaking of the camera zoom scene... It's possible to get soft-locked during second fight with Diego: You can run to the life pods corridor where Diego comes from during the scene, and the door gets locked behind.
Okay someone needs to clarify what they mean by "Perma death" within this context cause its knocking me for a loop. To me it generally means that your character dies and your entire save file is deleted forcing you start from scratch. I was playing this game on the hardest settings until recently (didn't realize there was a time limit) and as far as I can tell you can easily reload a previous save if you have not unlocked the regen chamber on that particular level. The only real annoyance is the cutscene but if you are fast enough, pressing the escape key generally brings up the load options sparing you from having to sit through it.
i time stamped the same battle_had to keep reloading my quick save until i beat him.. and yes to the emp nades. also check damage on your weps and let'em have it!

Mission 3 means you have 10 hours to complete the game(lore wise shodan is hacking you).
So if timer ends you die NO matter but you can still load back earlier saves but timer will likely expire if you played too slowly.
Basically first time player will very likely soft lock themselves as they run out of time.

Difficulty descryption tells you what a given difficulty does eg.time limit.

And if you die on a floor where you have no res chamber active you also die(same as in OG on every difficulty).

You can still load back a save.

If you play with cyber 3 mission 3 you can easily die if you have no res chamber active on that lvl forcing a loaf back.
I don't have issues handling the fight. I just don't like how it is handled.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I am so used to savescumming that I generally default to loading the latest quicksave instead of taking advantage of the regen chamber. Always feel like I could have used my resources better restarting from a certain point instead of continuing on.
