Hacking enemies

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere and considering that it is neither part of the original nor mentioned in a tooltip, I thought I'd ask: how many people have noticed that you can hack enemies and cameras via the targeting system if you hold the button in question?

enemies, yes...cameras, no...but those don´t last long anyways

you need to be undetected, and need targeting soft v.2 I think, then you simply aim at an enemy or camera and hit left ALT (vanilla settings)... in the display there will be a small button which will desensify the hacked entity for about a minute or so to your presence

Was not part of the original system shock.

I think for hacking you need target indetifier V2 at least.

Make sure that ware is turned ON it has zero energy maintaince cost so should be on at all the time.

When you have an enemy in your crosshair you press "alt".
V1:Only shows hp and other basic stuffs on every enemy type.

Maybe cost little energy maybe free to show hp bar not sure.


V2:Allows hacking NON- organics enemies takes a little time cost energy and can be only done if targeted enemy is unaware of you.

For some enemies hacking kills them for most it dumps them down so they are easier to kill.

V3:Alt now also shows the target weakspot which takes extra dmg often the head.

And hacking is now faster.
For hacking you need to hold down alt for a few seconds.

Hacking is best used from stealth on unaware high tier enemies eg.cyber warrior,MK2 security bot so with follow up shots you can likely kill them with much less dmg taken.

Also that ware has a max range about 20-30 meters so you can not target very far away enemies.

Pressing "alt" first just shows shields,armor and at higher lvls likely the task the enemy is doing.

The hacker wears PowerGloves through the entire game, so he should be able to HACK TIME.

Just be careful not to hack too much time.
