Can't get to Executive (solved)
Can someone give me a slight hint or am I softlocked somehow?
I get "Power diverted to level R" on both elevators when trying to go to Executive, "No maintenance required" on maintenance doors, "Authorisation needed" for the lever near the reactor core, no combination of shield/security override activation/deactivation changes anything, 1% security on flight deck (I think?) but I need 0% for one of the doors, 45% security on maintenance but I have 55%

Yes, after that I am able to enable/disable shield but it doesn't help

Oh, it does. In combination with another button on the research deck you'll have immediate success if the shields are on. Now what button shouldn't be pressed while there is a cork in the barrel? Oh yeah, there is also a safety override you need to activate because what you're doing will void the warranty.

Focus on eliminating the mining laser of the station as a potential threat to earth.
Maybe you can push some buttons in a way one normally wouldn't to make that happen.

(There is an audiolog somewhere that contains a full plan to achieve that)

Yes, I found the audiolog, but what buttons?

You have to disable the laser charging. You do that on reactor using a code you got from the library in research.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

this took me so long to figure out, lol. yeah, the audiolog describes what to do, but its easy to forget. basically, the problem is, that the power is diverted to the mining laser. you need to enable the radiation shield using the isotope AND disable the safety locks on the reactor floor, using the code you got from the cyberspace hack on research (?) floor. than you have to get back to research and turn the laser off.

Yeah I guess all the time I was missing the "turn the laser off" thing that's in Research. Actually the last floor I haven't rechecked fully (apart from Medical)

Ok so you want to have them on. Next step is overriding the safety on the laser. You can get the code for the override from cyberspace on Research, it'll appear on a screen near the cyberjack. The override itself is located on Reactor level.

Alright I am just hilariously blind not noticing that laser control interface. Excuse me. Thanks everyone

That initiates the station's self destruct sequence. You destroy the mining laser by activating the station's shields, and then firing the mining laser, which will destroy it, because the shields are activated.

Sounds like we should go find Nathan Darcy in his office. After searching for a bit, we find his office...

...Oh no! He appears to be dead!

Fortunately he left us an audio log telling us EXACTLY how to stop that laser...

Ok, it sounds like we need two things:
Isotope X-22 to power the shields and the Safety Override code to fire the laser... both of these things are seemingly found in Research, Level 2

But wait... How are we supposed to get there if the elevator on Medical isn't working? Well, it sounds like if we could lower the security level enough by destroying the CPU nodes we'd be able to take the elevator up to Research.

...and so on... Power is diverted to level R because SHODAN is charging the mining laser. Almost every question you could have is answered by an audio log somewhere.

There is 1 camera behind a hidden door on the flight deck.

In case you have 1% on storage then the last camera is behind the coded door and you need to quess the second code to open ,digit 1 and 3 comes from audio logs and needs 1% to open it.

Maintaince you can not get it to 45% on first visit you will come back later when those doors open for story progress.

For the laser :You need isotope X22 from research place it somewhere in reactor AND flip the switch.
You need laser code from research libary cyberspace completion and you need to type that somewhere in the reactor AND flip the switch.

Once that done you fire the laser and the now the station has power for the executive lvl.

Edit:Yes game audio logs explain it plain and simple.

I'm not talking about the self destruct, you need a 6 digit code for that, not the code from library.

Reactor has both the self destruct and the safety override for the laser.
chakkman Jun 7, 2023 @ 7:15am
Ok, but, that safety override isn't for disabling the laser, it's to be able to control the laser from the control room.
